Maine is a very liberal state...

Gotta disagree. Maine is a very blue-collar state with a Republican Party that workers would be screwing themselves to vote for; they'd still get big government but all the rewards would go to management instead of labor.

This lets the liberals who run the Democrats have things pretty much their own way; but most of Mainers are culturally pretty conservative.

Someone above was speaking of our soldiers liberating the people of Iraq. They are certainly doing that, but Mr TEXOKIE is wanting me to post the point that it is a bigger picture than that. The most fundamental reason we are probably going to go to Iraq is because there is a madman there with Weapons of Mass Destruction who HATES us and wants to KILL us! We are going there to preserve our own safety as well as the safety of the culture of Western Civilization....and along the way liberating oppressed peoples. Mr TEXOKIE says, "REMEMBER 9/11!"

We are both appalled at this latest report of skullduggery from the left. There is absolutely no excuse for this deplorable behavior toward innocent children. We agree that this story MUST be kept bumped!

You're correct for the most part, but I have to add that politically, a goodly portion of Maine's voters are babes in the woods.

You know who I'm talking about; the good people around Bangor and vicinity that kept sending Baldacci back to Washington and elected him Governor even though he had virtually no platform or program.

The people who voted because, "Hey Johnnie B is a nice guy and besides he's from here. Got to be good for Bangor." DUH!
