OKMULGEE, Okla. -- Investigators need new evidence to file charges in the rape of an 8-month-old girl, an Okmulgee County prosecutor says.
There was nothing in reports from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Henryetta Police Department to identify a suspect in the July attack, District Attorney Tom Giulioli said Thursday. (More if you click on the link.)

There are some details in the rest of the article that would make you sick to your stomach. This baby is unlikely to be able to have children of her own someday...and they are CONSIDERING terminating parental rights. That means not only was she physically brutalized, but she is also without a solid stable protective family she can count on to help her make the best of what was left to her.
There's a monster roaming loose in my state.

Oh my God. "Monster" is right. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of sick excuse for a human being could do something like that.
If the police find him they'd better just kill him on the spot because he won't last 10 minutes in prison.

I've been following this story, too. I'm not a law expert, so perhaps I can be forgiven if it appears to me that it's almost as though they've decided to turn a blind eye to this case.
Considering terminating parental rights?
Can't get enough evidence together? They had DNA, and it's
inconclusive? How can this happen?
I hope everyone will click on the link: it's a much worse story than the few words above make it appear. But if you do, you might have nightmares. As ChemistCat says, there's a monster running loose in our state.

The reason it's so stunning that parental rights have not already been terminated is that the parents were in the house when the rape happened--by their own admission--and yet it's the baby's GRANDMOTHER who took her to the ER.
The whole thing stinks to high heaven and I think some phone calls to the prosecutor's office in that county are in order. Some pressure needs to be put on these people on this baby's behalf--and she needs a REAL FAMILY, ASAP. So do her siblings. She needs a mommy and a daddy who can give her the love and protection a baby needs.
If I can find a phone number I'll post it, and if some others would put this on their to-do list for Monday I'd be very grateful.

The article is so horrific, that words escape me. Praying for this baby, and her sibling.

Also this -
The child's parents told authorities they were sleeping in the next room when the assault occurred.
HOW COULD THEY POSSIBLY NOT KNOW WHO DID IT IF THEY WERE SLEEPING IN THE NEXT ROOM WHEN IT HAPPENED??? How many potential suspects were in their house at the time? How frustrating that the DNA evidence is inconclusive.
I read the article. That baby was battered beyond belief. There IS a monster loose in your state, and I'm afraid it has the same last name as the victim.

Nobody could sleep through something like that. A normal mother wakes up at the slightest change in her baby's breathing pattern. Those people were stoned out of their gills ... betcha!
That poor grandmother. How she must feel knowing how the child she raised turned out. And then to discover her grandbaby being brutally attacked like that! I pray that God will help her live through this without going completely insane.
And may God ease the pain of that poor baby and inflict it a million times worse upon the monster who did it!

I've already expressed my outrage and thoughts on this privately ... I have NEVER wished so ill of a person ... . Publically I wonder, ... was it the FATHER'S Grandmother who took the baby to the hospital? I'm just guessing but this looks like a male did this. I'm also guessing that the mother of the baby's mother would turn that husband in if she knew for sure that he raped her granddaughter. I wonder is the father's mother covering for him?
Also NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE could sleep through that kind of an attack. That family KNOWS who did it and I suspect the DNA isn't as inconclusive as they state. Something stinks to high heaven here.
I pray for the baby and pray that who did this is determined and they receive the death sentence.

Thanks for the warning. I will skip reading the rest of the article cause this is bad enough. A monster is indeed what you have there and a pray he is caught soon (or preferably KILLED).

Now is it just me, or don't you think that public officials ought to have listed numbers that can be found pretty easily? Add another reason to be suspicious of this situation. Also, apparently, only Channel 5 (ABC affiliate) and their associated website have bothered to cover this at all.

Send the story to Drudge and Fox News.
Horrible beyond words.
To: JudyB1938
Very little said in the article. Truly horrifying.
Could they have sold the child for sexual purposes? To someone 'connected'? "Inconclusive" ? Because there was more than one person's DNA?
This whole thing smacks of some kind of cover-up.
To: ChemistCat
Prayers for this baby girl bump! Pray for this little one. Pray the one responsible is punished to the fullest while on this earth.
