Sorry :-) I really didn't want to do any math. Unfortunately it is very hard to convey the notion that even foam can impart a HUGE amount of kinetic energy, without going to the basic physics & math. If we ignore the math, it becomes very easy to let O'Keefe get by with saying that the foam striking the wing, is like a styrofoam beer cooler hitting your windshield at highway speeds. When we go to the math, we find that 4 or 5 orders of magnitude more energy is involved.
