He was. If you haven't seen "The Shipping News", go out and get it immediately. Better performance than "K-Pax", in my opinion. Brilliant.

Some weirdo in a nuthouse may be wise and powerful alien, who, regardless of his provenance, dispenses wisdom and homilies, and shows that, if we think about it, we would realize we are the crazy ones, with like war & crappy jobs & a "hurting" in our families that can be cured by the simple wisdom of a nutjob.
