Go see this movie! Life of David Gale

"The Life of David Gale" is the best movie I have seen in the last two years. It is about the death penalty and its opponents, and is VERY politically incorrect. I can't say more without giving away the plot. It got zero (0) stars from Ebert because he didn't agree with its politics! I was glued to my seat for two hours. Fellow Freepers will love this movie, and the time just rushes by.

I'd rather pay money to watch him being run over by a riding lawnmower for 2 hours.

Thanks for your input. The man, no matter his politics, sure can act.

I refuse to see it just because Spacey is in it. He is a Bush-basher and clinton-LOVER. He and clinton are very close friends...that's enough of a reason to diss this movie.

although a study of his office calendar shows he budgeted 15 minutes per condemned man

First of all, Mr. Ebert, this is far more consideration than these people gave their victims, and secondly, you don't have any clue what went on in Governor Bush's mind, unless you're privy to the 'office calendar' of his brain.

Eberts reviews are generally a good indicator for me. If he likes it, I hate it, and vise versa.

I'd rather mow grass for two hours than watch Kevin Spacey, a card carrying member of the Hollywood Elite and HATE America FIRST crowd.

LOL

He's a great actor, but his politics prevent me from paying to see any of his work.

Ebert let his uber leftwing agenda and Texas-hatred go bonkers.

How many attacks on Texans and white people can one person fit into a review? This one is a real oddity.

Actually, the plot seems a lot like Just Cause, with Sean Connery. For what it's worth, one of the best Kevin Spacey movies I've seen is The Usual Suspects.

wasn't he fantastic in K-Pax? That was a beautiful movie! ??????????? Swett Yumpin' Yimminy- from the trailer I saw, it looked like a saccharine chick-flick, one best enjoyed by obese teeth-dprived trailer trash who had to tear themselves away from Oprah to get to the theater-

Some weirdo in a nuthouse may be wise and powerful alien, who, regardless of his provenance, dispenses wisdom and homilies, and shows that, if we think about it, we would realize we are the crazy ones, with like war & crappy jobs & a "hurting" in our families that can be cured by the simple wisdom of a nutjob.

Sweet Mother of Yahweh- I almost barfed from the trailer alone. Were you kidding?

I did not ruin the movie for anyone as I gave no more information than found in published reviews. I hated Kevin S in American Beauty (an awful movie) and don't know about his politics...go see this even if you hate him!

Yes indeed.

As with Sarandan, Sheen, Norton, Farrell, Penn, Garofalo and that little twerp Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey is a liberal who hates President Bush and loves Jimmah Carter and scumbag Clinton. I believe Spacey was a speech writer for Carter.

His movies are off limits for me. I have no intention of helping any of these Hollyweird liberals profit from their disgraceful, anti-American behavior. No thanks.

Kevin Spacey is a truly gifted actor. I loved K-Pax, Shipping News and American Beauty. He seems to choose wisely when it comes to which movies he will do. Pay It Foward was too much of a made-for-tv-movie type but maybe he liked its message. As a woman, I have to admit his acting has seduced me. (I think it's his voice...mmmm)

Even though I was terribly disappointed to hear of his recent romp with Bubba (didn't they share Big Macs somewhere in Europe?), I'll probably see this movie just out of curiosity. I like Kate Winslet anyway, and I guess I can justify seeing this just so I can go against the Bush-bashing Ebert.

Well, my initial discernment was that it is another Liberal movie [starring nothing but Liberals] who rail against and make neverending accusations against legitimate authority.

I'll pass.

Besides, Spacey is Clinton's butt-boy.

Go see this movie even if I hate him??

That makes no sense. Should I vote for someone even if I hate their politics?

Should I buy Sheryl Crowe and Babs Streisand records??

I have a whole list of people that I used to like that I will not go to see anymore. I am ashamed to admit that I was a huge Streisand fan at one time - BEFORE I knew her politics. Haven't even listened to any of her CD's since then, or watched her movies. I used to be a big Dustin Hoffman fan, too...I am much more limited now but I don't care. I refuse to give one dime to these traitors to America.
