Once again, had they occured in August 2001, I don't think the Midland TX fire or a trash fire near San Diego would have gotten a mention on the National News, and quite possibly would not have even been posted on on FR. I see your point. When Fox first broke the news, SHep said it was "some type of refinery" and He mentioned not knowing if it was oil. I probably would not have posted had I known it was a garbage dump!
However, it still seems a bit freaky, no?

Well, incident number zillion of FNC incompetence, then (Did CNN or PMSNBC even mention the story?); they have a tendency to roll with bad info on breaking stories.
