Thanks Rodger. We are compiling a list of National Organizations and CPAC grousp are tops on the list! Then we need to find out which ones have local chapters or can help by putting blurbs on websites or in newsletters.

Not sure, but their new PR Pro CD sure makes it look easy. Now you don't have to download into your contact manager since you can fax/email straight from their db. I may upgrade. Check 'em out; notice their clients and comparison pages.
Gebbie Press PR Pro CD
To: Bob J
That's pretty good. But with a commercial db, you have more flexibility from a national standpoint, which is what FRN is about. BTW, Gebbie Press is over 22,000! outlets, not 10,000. The hard copy is really handy if someone needs quick info on a local media outlet.

Do you have someone entering the data from these types of orgs into a specific database? I tried it with VetsCoR for awhile, but it's slow and tedious and the e-addresses change often. I'm still looking for a vendor who sale e-lists for political/military/veteran orgs. Aren't there programs that sweep the Web for e-addresses under specific words, terms, phrases?

Looks pretty good. What are the advantages in interfacing it with ACT!?

With this new PR Pro CD there may not be any advantages to downloading into a separate contact manager, such as ACT! Apparently, you can now fax or email targeted markets directly from their db which would have taken a contact manager before to mix and match. Looks like it came out right after I purchased floppy version a year ago. Darn. Try the PR Pro CD demo...I am.

Since I'm new at this, I really don't know who to ask, but is there a Free Republic bunch in Hampton Roads VA (Norfolk, VABEACH, Chesapeake, Portsmouth) that is organizing a protest?
I'd like to get together on one to support our military. They had a group of 100 or so Pro-Saddam supporters out last week and it needs to be countered. The media here sure played it up.

Do you think we should eliminate policy institutes and think tanks from the list?

"Do you think we should eliminate policy institutes and think tanks from the list?"
Not at all. Never know when someone reading a press release may pass it on or get involved personally, even if the event/project is not directly related to their mission. I'd include fraternal orgs, also.
Have you ever talked to Keene or others about pooling resources to build such a comprehensive listing? You would also have to have dedicated people to continuely update and purge. There are whats called LISTSERV companies on line that you pay to create, manage, and broadcast your email lists, but they mostly deal in commercial applications.
L-Soft Catalog of LISTSERV lists
If you have a committee or volunteers in place who are already doing this, I'll be happy to assist where I can. But it's more than one person can do from my experience.
To: Bob J
Oops, just notice your Service Organizations category.
To: OpusatFR
No, this site is famous for it's operas written by people who get a nut on about something or other and leave in a huff.
