Serbian Orthodox suffer since the United Nations took control of Kosovo

Serbian Orthodox suffer

At least 110 Serb Christian sites (churches, monasteries, graveyards etc.) have been damaged or destroyed in Kosovo since the United Nations took control in June 1999.

Most recently, a church building in the village of Ljubovo was completely destroyed by an explosion in the early hours of 17 November last.

A second explosion damaged another church in the town of Djurakovac. The bombings came on the eve of a visit to Kosovo by UN General Secretary Kofi Annan.

Church leaders and Orthodox worshippers also face violence and hostility from ethnic Albanians, especially where UN checkpoints in the vicinity of churches have been withdrawn in recent months.

Ethnic Albanian Muslim extremists regard churches as symbols of Serbian domination and see them as legitimate targets.

YEah, well, Serb mobs are beating the hell out of Muslims in Banja Luka when they try to rebuild mosques.

Your precious serbs are NOT the only victims in this dump. And if you don't like how your tax dollars are spent, vote. Deal with it.

And as for people who don't know what they're talking about please put yourself at the top of the list.

Kosovo is Serbian.

90% of the inhabitants there disagree.

Besides, Kravica is Serbian too. If you claim one, claim the other.

BS. It was about the right to self-determination, which you're avoiding on purpose.

If you claim the right to self determination for Knin, you have to apply it to Kosova. And by those rules you boys LOST. Deal with it.

So that's it. Interloper. Okay. In other words, you want this to be a Serb only club. Why don't you just round me up with all the other non-Serbs in the neighborhood and stick me into a barn? I for one will not be ethnically cleansed.

On 5 May 2001, rioters destroyed the foundation of a mosque being rebuilt in Trebinje, a town in the southern part of Bosnia, near the border with Montenegro. On 7 May 2001, rioters from the same organization were bussed 200 miles to Banja Luka, where they did the same thing to a mosque being rebuilt in downtown Banja Luka: a mosque that had been one of the archetectural wonders of the former Yugoslavia and had stood for 500 years before it was destroyed by Serb thugs in 1993.

I should note for the record: this did not happen in WW2, a half century ago. This riot occurred less than two years ago. My comment about Serbs Who Cannot Play Well With Others stands. The following is an interview with the US Ambassador about the riots of 7 May 2001 in Banja Luka, "Republika Srpska" (RS).

DNEVNE NEZAVISNE NOVINE

Daily Independent Newspaper, Serbian national daily from Banja Luka

The RS Leadership Is Responsible

An interview with US Ambassador to BH, Thomas Miller

Q: Mr. Miller, what is your comment on Monday’s events in Banja Luka?

A: I’m extremely disappointed and disgusted with what happened in Banja Luka. We saw what happened in Trebinje on Saturday, so there is no excuse that people could not be ready for such a thing. I was on my way towards the Ferhadija Mosque, and I found myself a few meters away from the building of Meshihat when stones started to fall on us. Security tried to throw me into the car as fast as possible. I think that there are many good people in the RS, but there are also those who support the violence, and I think that such people are responsible for the events in Trebinje and Banja Luka. They do not do anything useful for the people, who obey law in the RS, and that’s why what happened creates a terrible image of the RS. I also think that the RS leadership is responsible for these events. When the mob started coming toward us I saw police officers that did nothing. They just stood there, which I consider absolutely irresponsible. Not only do I consider them irresponsible because they did not do their job, but I also blame their leaders. If the RS citizens want to be treated as citizens of one normal country, they have to behave that way.

Q: Will you insist on the laying of the corner stone for the Ferhadija Mosque?

A: I hope I will. That is nothing extraordinary. There was a famous mosque, which was destroyed, and it took eight years gain permission for its reconstruction. I should have spoken at the ceremony today. I wanted to point out the need for all religious monuments to be reconstructed. I wanted to say that it is not necessary that only Muslims have the mosque, but also that the Orthodox and Catholic believers have their objects as well as the Jewish. It is a basic rule.

Q: What are the consequences of the events in Banja Luka and Trebinje for the RS?

A: The RS citizens are the great losers because this is the image they suffer from. The fact is that the RS police cannot fulfill their basic responsibilities – respect of the law and maintaining order, and this massage will be seen in entire world. How can you expect investments when you cannot maintain the basic order and law?

Q: Will the RS suffer from sanctions after all these events?

A: I think that the RS sanctions itself more than anyone else does. Prime Minister Ivanic has been trying to convince the people for the last four months that there is the hope of a better future and prosperity. I think that events in Trebinje, which were repeated in Banja Luka say to the US and the rest of the IC that the RS leadership is not able to maintain peace and order. I hope that the situation will be different when this interview is published, but currently we have many people including my colleagues, who are surrendered by very hostile groups. I think that ordinary people, who obey the law, should say to their leadership that they had enough of one group of extremists representing the entire nation because if they do not react these extremists will prevail. They simply preach hatred and violence, and those are the people who speak for the RS now. And I wonder now: “Is it what most people in the RS want?”

Q: Is the Banja Luka (Local Police) responsible for these incidents because you say that police officers stood aside calmly and watched what was happening?

A: The first people, who are responsible, are those, who are involved in all what happened, those who behave violently. I saw many young people, who attacked older people. They destroyed buses. The same thing happened in Trebinje on Saturday. Those people bare the main part of the guilt, but the police and their leadership as well as the RS Prime Minister and state leadership are also responsible. Their duty was to prevent this. However, I saw police officers that sat there doing nothing.

Q: Will you take specific measures in relation to these events?

A: First the situation must calm down, so we will see what kind of long-term measures, we should take. Right now, I am worried about the lives of those people who are still in danger. First, we should solve this situation, then we will talk about possible consequences.

Q: The RS President and Vice President showed up at the scene only after the riots escalated.

A: The duty of any leader is to lead. One of the state functions is to provide the safety of the state for its citizens and possible guests in this country. These people neither led nor guaranteed the safety and I think that this is an absolute shame. The shame is even bigger because they have recently returned from America and they spoke there that the SDS has changed. I have just spoken with Prime Minister Ivanic, who is at the spot, and I know that our Office has tried for long time to make a contact with the RS President and Vice President, who were not available. How is it possible that you have such a crisis and that you are not able to contact them? What kind of message is that?

You seem to be confused by HumWarrior propoganda. And the only ones living in a dream world of conspiricy are the HumWarriors. For one to believe their tale one requires the utmost belief in secrets, midnight dealings, dark handshakes and all the rest.

As stated previously, every time there is a new fact, the HumWarriors need to twist their tale further. Bodies not found where the "eyewitness" said they were buried ?
Why, those sinister 'serbs' musta' moved 'em under the cover of darkness
And more of the same.

As your artticle pointed out there have been 1,780 bodies found. (not 4,000) There are 4,000 body bags, but each multiple bags contain. You have stated on this thread that your UN and ICTY sources concluded that at least 1,500 of Nasir Oric's soldiers were killed in a fighting during their retreat.

As for the Kavica Warehouse, it has been stated a numebr of times, that is precisely where Nasir Oric made one of execution squad forays. The blood etc you saw there is likely to be that of civilian victims of Nasir Oric.

Finally, aside from hearsay; 'eyewitness' testimony from Nasir Oric's nephew; and 'eyewitness' testimony from a mental patient. there simply isn't the slightest shred of hard evidence to cooraborate the HumWarriors. The only hard evidence we have are the bodies and Nasir Oric's videos of villagers he beheaded.

Sure bodies have been found, but in villages were the 28th BiH murdered nearly 3,100 villagers over the 2 1/2 year time span they operated. In the very villages where Nasir Oric made his gastly videos.

And the most damning evidence against the HumWarrior POV is simply these 2 points

1)The HumWarrior's refuse to release the full and complete forensic reports. They continue to be supressed. There are plenty of Forensic reports from the area freely availiable (do a web search for other sites), but not from the Srebrenica graves. The supression of the full and complete Forensic Reports is odd.

2) In all the other mass grave discovered in the area, 75-85% of the bodies are quickly id'd. Despite massive DNA sampling and despite lists of the 'missing'; there have been less than 20% of the bodies id'd. Why ? The only conclusion oen can reach is that the Iztbegovic-Dole investiogators are trying to match the bodies with the wrong DNA. It is certain that at least some of the bodies (certainly those found in Loyalist Villaages) might just be those of victims of Nasir Oric rather than his very own cadre.

Until the full and complete Forensic Reports are freely availiable, reasonable people will suspect the wild and crazy HumWarrior tale

It is also curious that your deep seated racism comes through in every post. You consider the "serbs" as some sort of vile group, full of crazed paranoia, and slightly sub-human. You also try to paint any one who would possible question the HumWarrior tale as being a Serb, and therefore beneath contempt.

Good Agit-Prop technique in the best Marxist-Leninist tradition, but bad if one wishes to understand exactly what happened

FYI Most of the people on these Balkan threads are manisfestly not 'serbs'. I for one have a Croat Father and a Bavarian Mother and was born and raised in the Rocky Mountians. So please hold the racism for some other forum. It just destroys your presentation of the HumWarrior prespective.

Remember the Kravica barn? On 11 July 2001, there was a dedication ceremony for the coming Cemetery at Srebrenica. The buses with the widows and children driving to that ceremony drove past the execution site at Kravica. Serbs standing next to it had five slaughtered pigs leaning on the side of the building as the women drove by.

Evil. Your own words convict you.

Until the full and complete Forensic Reports are freely availiable,,

Until they stand before the Throne of Jesus Christ, the murderers will not be convicted in their own minds and in their own hearts, for one cannot see what one refuses to see. "How doubly dark must your darkness be!"

It's entirely possible that you are right, and that there was a camp at Split. I have no knowledge of this so I will not deny it. But it CHANGES NOTHING in terms of the slaughter that has happened in Bosnia and Kosovo.

Sorry, I don't know what you mean with the term "Kosova" - except if you mean ...

... "Gusii also called Kisii, or Kosova, a Bantu-speaking people who inhabit hills of western Kenya in an area between Lake Victoria and the Tanzanian border. The Gusii probably came to their present highlands from the Mount Elgon region some 500 years ago. The Gusii economy comprises a multiplicity of productive activities: they farm pyrethrum and tea as cash crops, as well as millet, corn (maize), cassava, sorghum,..."

But if you mean the Serbian province, than call it by its internationally recognized name Kosovo or Kosovo Polje or like it was called for centuries (how long there is a USA?): Kosovo i Metohija.

But why you don't say any word about this Albanian self determination:

Self determination (<- click)

(And note, this is not the fate of Gypsies in Nazi times in Kosmet, this Romany final solution was accomplished in 1999 - what the Albaninan Ballisti und SS Skanderbeg Nazis not achieved in 1943 they achieved now)

So why are you (Muslim for sure!) so silent?

You boys remind me of the Northern Irish Protestants who obsess about the Siege of Londonderry, King Billy and the Battle of the Boyne. Or the Irish Catholics who obsess about Drogheda. Or the Palestinian who never forget a grievance. Not to mention neoconfederates for whom every day is July 3, 1863. Or any of a number of other $#!+-for-brains ethnic groups who'd rather refight their longfathers' wars rather than live in the present.

The primary rule remains in place: grievance is not heritable. You have no right to beat me for something my father did to your father before either of us was born. Once you see that fundamental truth there will be hope. You and your people will continue to live in the ninth circle of Hell until you do.
