I just turned and looked out my office window and saw a column of black smoke rising towards Union Beach/Perth Amboy NJ.
I then felt the force of an explosion rattle my window.

Yep. Also, it looks like the heat from the main fire is starting secondaries. I bet that nearby barge is toast.

WOW! At least 55 thousands gallons of gasoline. There goes another $5 every time I fill up.
Dang.
Shalom.

It does seem too coincidental that these tragedies - in Chicago, Rhode Island, Newark - all have occurred within the past week.Yeah, who wudda thunk that Al Qaeda could have infiltrated an over-the-hill hard rock band so they could set a two-bit nightclub on fire and make it look like an accident?
Seriously, this refinery incident could be terrorism - I have thought for some time that refineries would be a very tempting target for terrorists. But it's nuts to think the club deaths were anything but accidents.

"Some turban-clad leader was screaming about cutting heads off Jews with swords and allah is great." This is the preferred Islamic jihad killing method - renders the deceased an eternity without a head.
FWIW
Keep praying and reporting any suspicious activities to the FBI.

Blaze might have started on barge at Staten Island complex |

MSNBC STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS |

NEW YORK, Feb. 21 ? A huge fire was burning Friday at an oil refinery on New York?s Staten Island. Intial reports said a barge had caught fire, starting a huge blaze that sent black smoke into the air, making it visible for miles. |

"One's got to wonder what in the hell is up with all these fires & terrible things happening here in the states, i'm not a tinfoil hat freak but it makes you think."
Ya, it makes me think the media is EXTREMELY paniced and overemphasizes those things which happen daily but now have, for some reason, horrific importance.
I have been chastized on this group for asking people to wait to judge until facts are in. Recall the shuttle disaster when people on this forum were reporting that airplanes were seen flying alongside the shuttle!
The stupidity of that statement speaks for itself.

Good grief. They don't have to strike. We give them credit for everything anyway.

THe others, I can't speak for. But the BP-East Chicago one certainly was no biggie.
However, an exploding barge does not make me comfortable after I read this.

ACCIDENTAL my A**!! This is begining to look VERY suspicious! Especial now that that terrorist professor has been arrested. Did you notice his smirk as he made his way to jail yesterday on the news clips?? The kind smirk that says...I know something you don't!! SCARY SH**!!

The "expert" on FNC just said it contains about a million gallons, actually, although it is propane? This shouldn't affect gas prices should it?

I was wondering where you were. Thanks for the Reed Alert!
I'm reserving judgement, but it's hard not to put on at least a little tinfoil hat about this.

i agree with you and they run around screaming and crying and wringing their hands all excited about every little thing that happens even those things that would not have even made page 6 in the local paper just a few years ago for some that is the legacy of 9-11 i guess many are now just scared of their own shadow that means the terrorists have won by default
