Some refreshing (and unusual) honesty from a leftwing source.

I also predict that a similar analysis in NYC would show a crowd of no more than 50,000.

The London Rally looked way short of estimates.

We had a great counter-protest...Last time I counted, we had just under 1,000 FReepers heckling those peacniks.

I had a feeling this was the case as the one aerial view of the square I saw appeared to show far fewer participants than the last demonstration, but there was no info regarding the time of the photo. And now they are pushing back the next demonstration. I guess the movement is loosing steam, not gaining, as the American press would have us believe.

Probably the same folks counting that gathering as counted the "million-man march" and the "million moron-mom march".

So we were ONLY outnumbered 1,000 to 1 instead of 3,076 to 1.
Why is all this exerpting? Only LA Times and Wash. Compost--are the two who we need to except? Right?

Same thing in maine- the estimates in the paper were over 1000 but the number was closer to 3-400, with that being a bit high. Interesting that when about 200-300 freepers rallied during the fl recount, there was not even an article in the paper, yet it was almost the same size that got a front page article for the appeasers.

Don't give the Chron too much credit. They may have sat on this story since Monday or Tuesday, when its publication would have had a bigger impact. By now, the bigger numbers are imbedded in the consciousness of the minimally involved (the majority).

Indeed -- the way the Comical was pushing the rally, and their general bias against cleaning house, makes this a case of "arguing against interest", as the lawyers would say.

Many of these anti-war folk are nothing if not fickle. I predict we will start seeing Chronicle news racks vandalized and the Chronicle building itself may become a target for vandalism.
