Tucson police arrested an Afghan man Tuesday after he apparently crossed the border illegally, authorities said.

Investigators were tight-lipped about the arrest, saying the 26-year-old man was in federal custody on immigration-related charges.

"I can confirm we did arrest someone from Afghanistan, but the case is under investigation by us and the FBI," U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Rob Daniels said.

nope. it may only be a possiblilty that the enemy is invading. on the other hand, they may just be merely friendly illegal immigrants from the countries who sponsor death to the American satan.

this blase moment brought to you by those who controlled security at logan airport in 2001.

it's okay, we're a rich country. fema has the ability to distribute thousands of chinese manufactured body bags at a moments notice.

The biggest problem that I have, is that was I remember the old CD classes in school. My wife used to think it silly of me and so did some of the neighbors to prepare emergency supplies . Then 9/11 occurred. Well they don't think its silly anymore. I have complained for years about our "borders". Well, now I wonder how many will think thats silly?

nic, nic, you're hollerin at the choir here.

step out on the patio with me here, and have a cold rolling rock. now, isn't that better?

pull up a chair, put yer feet up, and tell us what we can do about things... i'll be the first to admit that i don't have any first rate up front ideas.

as much as it will be unpopular to admit it, buchanan preceded tancredo with the idea of closing the borders... is it doable? prolly not, but we sure could head more in that direction, huh?

as much as i admire dutch, he allowed/supported amnesty, too. what was that about? where's this going? better yet, why?

ever play risk?

several people here could benefit at a good game. they'd find out how difficult this country is to defend on a game level.

imagine the implications in reality...

then add the basturds that WANT open borders. whew!

Y'see, I know of three or four heavily traveled avenues within 10 miles of the house. So I'd take you, me, and the Rolling Rocks (or Dos Equiis, they're good, too!) out to a spot where we could look down on those trails, and I'd have my deer/elk rifles with me...I'd let you use one, I have a couple of spares! And we'd just have some fun with 'em, y'know what I mean, Vern?

Since Sept. 11, 2001, the Border Patrol has refused to disclose how many people from countries other than Mexico have been arrested at the border, citing "national security."

I find this to be absolutely unbelievable. Is this supposed to be classified information? I think we have a right to know this semi-meaningless statistic, as the real question is how many have snuck in and have not been arrested....

Funny ya should say that. You know we're the only "industrialised" country not to have "public" fallout shelters built in anymore. We had to spend that money on something useful, studying the buffalo pucks in little lord dassholes home state.

Believe me. Securing the Borders isn't going to be an easy task. But nothing worthwhile is easy. It's going to take alot of work. The sooner it gets started the better.

Open borders = major problems.(economic and security wise)

It looks like we need to deputize the civilian militia down there to protect our borders until our military gets done with Iraq. Where there is one roach, there is bound to be many more that you didn't catch.

I understand law enforcement is suffering from the call-up, so they might be looking for some help these days.

Yes, but I won't tell you how long ago that was, lol. It was fun and challenging, though, I remember that. Securing our borders should be a simple matter, what with this country's technologic and weapons capabilities, and I'm saying weapons-use more as a deterrent than would be necessary to shoot anyone who crosses over the line (like the gulags). It's clear border protection/securing is not desirable to the powers that be.

Good questions.....because it's so very obvious that our country is being drained away by supporting/paying for illegals to stay here illegally, and additionally, our citizenry is being murdered by illegals who just have to jump right back through the borders for safety. Needless to say, I'm very angry about the whole situation and what it's doing to our country and people......I think the citizens who have joined groups to protect our borders is taking the first step towards the remedy....they certainly have gotten Washington's attention and the support of Americans......I hope that sparks their understanding that the borders MUST be closed and secured. 2nd: if reporters keep reporting incidents such as this one, I can only assume massive outrage will force REAL change....voters asking tough questions of their representatives/senators about their position/plan for border control....and then act accordingly. These citizens groups are showing that being involved makes a difference, rather than continuing to be apathetic and disinterested.

I beg to differ on your assertion that closing the borders is NOT do-able.

We're going to hand over 30 BILLION DOLLARS to "our friend " Turkey for the use of their airfields in this BS war.

We have the money, that's pretty obvious. 30 billion would sure go a long way towards hiring some more Border Patrol agents, wouldn't you say?

George needs to grow some political balls.
