HOWDY FREEPERS!!!!!!
I wanted to give everyone an update concerning the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act.
This is an item that has been the subject of a number of past threads here at FR. NewsMax had an article on the subject back in July of last year.
What this bill would do is essentially give authorities the right to enforce quarrantines, vaccinate people (even against the will of their doctors), seize and destroy property without compensation, and ration medical supplies, food and fuel in a public health emergency.
This act according to opponents "would give govenors and state health officials a blank check to impose the most draconian sorts of measures."
So here is the update. a local T.V. station reported in it's 6 P.M. newscast that this measure which was shelved here in Oklahoma has come back out of commitee and is going to be voted on in the house. Now, you may ask, "so E.G.C. what is the problem here"?
Well, the problem here is that both houses of the state legislature are controlled by Democrats and our govenor is a Democrat.
This to me raises a red flag given the past performances of Democrats on the state level. This I'm afraid if it does indeed comes to pass has the potential of becoming a political mess which could far more harm than good.
Our current govenor did quite a bit of mudslinging in the last election. I have reason to believe that if granted those powers under this new act he could missuse or abuse them for his own political means. That's not good at all for Oklahoma or any state with a govenor like we have.
I would urge all Oklahoma freepers to contact their state representative and voice your opposition to this bill. That information should be avialable at the state web site or in your local newspaper. This measure has proven to be bad news for a number of other states. I realize there may be a time sooner or later for people to receive medical vaccines against a biological or nuclear attack but this clearly is not the way to go here.
