Anti-War Groups Planning Phone Campaign (LOSERS ALERT!)

A coalition of groups opposed to a U.S.-led war in Iraq will have supporters call, fax and e-mail the White House and Congress next week in an effort to overwhelm switchboards and catch the attention of political leaders.
"Last weekend, we marched in the streets," former Rep. Tom Andrews, D-Maine, national director of Win Without War, told a news conference Wednesday. "Next week, we're taking it to the suites of official Washington."
Organizers of the "virtual march" on Washington are calling on supporters to call, fax or e-mail their two U.S. senators and the White House during business hours on Feb. 26.
The group also unveiled a new television ad featuring actor Martin Sheen, who plays the fictional President Josiah Bartlet on NBC's "The West Wing." In the ad, which begins airing Thursday, Sheen urges Americans to take part in the call-in effort.
"Our message to Washington will be clear," Sheen says in the ad. "Don't invade Iraq. We can contain Saddam Hussein without killing innocent people, diverting us from the war on terrorism and putting us all at risk."
Participants who register for the call-in campaign at the group's Web site will be directed to make their phone calls at specific times, Andrews said. The goal is to record one call per minute in every Senate office and at the White House.
"We're hoping there will be thousands and thousands of phone calls," he said.
Sheen, along with other West Wing cast members and actress Janeane Garofalo, was appearing later Wednesday at a press conference in Los Angeles to discuss the new ad and the campaign.
The ad, produced by Win Without War, will air initially on CNN and other cable networks in Washington and Los Angeles at a cost of $30,000.
Win Without War is a coalition of more than 30 organizations opposed to war with Iraq, including the National Council of Churches, National Organization for Women, NAACP and the Sierra Club.

Simple solution: decide to temporatily shut down email and the pertinent communications lines for maintainance. The idiots'll think they won...until Ari says "Email and call in campaign? No, I'm not aware of any email or call in campaign. We had that portion of the system shut down for maintainance and upgrading."

You mean to tell me that the orgs on this list are "bi-partisan", or "multipartisan". Also, we need to eliminate the prefix "multi" from the English language. It seems to be a favorite of the lefties.

Rantel was shrewd enought to ask the caller how he could be a Republican...and then use the term "YOU REPUBLICANS"... the guy started a nervous laugh...but it was clear that Rantel smoked out a "ringer" from the anti-freedom/anti-Dubya protestor crowd. I used to listen to Al Rantel around 10 years ago when I lived in South FLA...a really sharp and entertaining host.
I miss hearing him each day!

Heres, let's get an activism thread going to shut down "Win Without War" by faxing, emailing, and phoning them! Who has the info - and where's the contact numbers for these guys? What's good for the goose is good for the gander; and, if we do it during their recruitment drive, we'd be able to block it off all together...
To: Calpernia
I would love to help you out! I think those who support Bush should do the same thing back to the groups that endorse this anti-American garbage. I have already sent my own personal e-mails to some of these groups but one email is no big deal.
It would be great fun!

Boy I can sure remember email compaigns of complaints about clinton's fiascos... Thank the Lord we're able to do it.

Okay, Lib/pacifist/appeasement logic dictates that we should not go to war with Iraq because "they haven't done anything to us" well, Osamayourmama wasn't on the planes on Sept. 11 so what right do we have to go after him either, much less all the innocent people of Afghanastan. Sure, he was the mastermind and all, but "he didn't do it" all the people that did are dead so what's with this "war on terror" anyway. Sorry, but these people are getting on my last nerve. I wish they would call me.

I think I'll go visit the enemy camp.
I noticed they offered a free fax service. Wonder if this can be taken advantage of to send Support Bush and the Troops messages instead?

Bush doesn 't cater to small special interest groups. They're wasting our valuable tax dollars by tieing up the lines.
If costing Americans tax dollars for their own self-interests isn't anti-American, I don't know what else is. Typical of the tax and spend leftist commies.
Do it on someone elses dime, Horrywood losers.

We got a phone call from a local TV station that was doing phone surveys about the issue with Iraq. They asked my husband, "What do you think the US should do regarding Iraq?" He replied, "Make them die."
Needless to say, the surveyor was not impressed!

"We're hoping there will be thousands and thousands of phone calls," he said.I'm hoping they get enough phone calls to burn out a switchboard circuit, so that the organizers get stung with a DDOS-equivalent e-terrorism / sabotage charge under the PATRIOT act! HAW!
Ah, maybe not jail 'em for it or anything - Rush did much the same thing during his "phone the Congress" one-day campaign to show what he was capable of achieving (there was no PATRIOT / e-terrorism / anti-DDOS laws then, however). Just make them wet themselves knowing that they'll have to defend themselves against the charge.
I submit: These people would not be struggling so desperately for attention, were they not aware of the fact that they're on the losing end of a 70-30 split, or deluded enough to actually believe they were in the majority. They know they're losing, they're going to continue losing, Iraq's getting occupied, and they're irrelevant. This whole stupid campaign is just yet another opportunity for them to fling invective toward their cartoon devil, aka George W. Bush. Mainstream America is as tired of "It's-Vietnam-All-Over-Again" hysteria and street theatre as it got of hearing Clinton sycophants defending his sleazy antics on talk TV.
If just once... JUST ONCE... the police presence would do to one of these communist stinkmobs what they did to their parents in Chicago, 1968, the vast majority of the American people would stand and cheer. If the DU morons lurking the site tonight believe otherwise, I would defy them: Next time, chuck a rock at a cop. See what you get, and what America thinks about it.
