Let the Dems shut down the senate. It's the Dems that go haywire when gov't shuts down and clearly a Dem filibuster points only to the dems as obstructionists.

Their action on Estrada will determine whether I send a $120 contribution or not. I hope they are ready to fight the dems on this and everything else. If so, there's no better investment.

The National Organization for Women opposes Miguel Estrada, as do all leftist DNC progressive communists.

I hope to God the republicans stand tall and expose the leftists who are so hypocritical.

There are UNION pages online with ready made letters of opposition to Estrada. The left are trying to oppose a good conservative man for their own agendas, of course.

I suspect the RATS will soon moderate their rabid anti-Estrada tone after a week back home among their constituents.

At a time the nation is focused on the possibility of war with Iraq, the ongoing war against terrorism, and a relatively stagnant economy, the political handlers at the DNC are hung up on a judicial nomination and their dupes in the Senate are making fools of themself. It's a complete disconnect from what's on the mind of ordinary citizens.

The GOP needs to turn up the heat on these vermin and push the nominiation to a vote on the Senate floor. This is Sen. Frist's first test. Don't back down, pile on the sinking RATS.

Not even the GOP calls a press conference to announce they are backing down. I suspect the WH has injected spinal material into several key GOP Senators and they will make their best case to America on behalf of Estrada.

Prediction - they're going to back down and make some weak attack on the Dems for obstructing but that the Republicans will remove their nominee so that the business of the country can continue and for the greater good.

Oh, wait. Lott is gone. Maybe they'll do the right thing and declare all out war on the Democrats for their indiscriminate use of weapons of mass obstruction.

Pubbies: Be sure to put "ABA: Well Qualified" on a big poster and make sure the cameras can't miss it.

Be sure to say "I sincerely hope out colleagues on the other side of the aisle aren't trying to play politics during a time of war. The Senate must be able to respond to any immediate actions we may be called upon to do, rather than stalling the nomination of the first Hispanic to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. I sincerely hope they don't do that."

Warning to Senators from both political parties: I'm going to change my Federal tax withholding on my paycheck to $0 for March 1st, and I intend to keep it there until Mr. Estrada is confirmed.

I'll say this much for the recess, it's kept the Democrats from using the filibuster platform to harangue Bush during the anti-war protests this week.
