Private prooperty rights, individual liberties, and limited government define the conservative belief.

I think I'm going to hurl. I need a Thomas Jefferson dart board, pronto!

The problem with the pro-tobacco, pro-smoking position is not whether or not it is a valid conservative position (it is depending on how you define "conservatism") but that it is presented as THE conservative position with no dissent allowed. And the tobacco industry's hooks in the Republican party (which began as an heir of puritanism) is a tragedy.

For my definition of conservatism, see my tag line.

And yes . . . I DO hate tobacco. I always have. And I always will. Are you "libertarian" enough to deal with that?

Change "G-d" to Allah and you sound exactly like Osama Bin Laden. Sorry. This country, while built on a Christian foundation, is not ruled by religion, yours or anyone else's.

See, I don't give a crap what you hate or don't hate. That's your own business and I tend not to stick my nose into other folks' business. And that's the problem I have with you and other anti-smokers. It's not enough for YOU to hate something, you have to foist your hatred and bigotry off on other people who don't agree.

The God's laws or none.

Please point out to me where in the bible it says "No Smoking". Didn't god create Tobacco?? If anything god is a smoker because a couple of times in the bible god has been known to blow smoke through his nostrils.

So I guess if God showed up at your favorite restaurant you would force him to take it outside

Plus somehow I don't think you will mind the Second hand smoke from the burning of witches

And yes . . . I DO hate tobacco. I always have. And I always will. Are you "libertarian" enough to deal with that?

Who cares what you like or not, Freedom isn't about what you like or not. I hate rap music but that doesn't mean I want or have the right to require high taxes on rap CDS or force every restaurant & bar even the ones I would never set foot in to ban it. I also hate SUVs, So does that mean I want or demand that high taxes be placed on them and they be banned from public roads.

The answer is no because as much as I dislike SUVs & Rap music, I would hate the loss of freedom more

Hate tobacco all you want - it's you're right....but it is not your right to FORCE a private place to conform to your ideals.

As a conservative you should be of the mind "the market will decide" as opposed to "I need the government to take care of me."

You are a conservative only when it suits your purposes - in other words, not a true conservative.
