This is an interesting article for those on our side who have written of black participation in the Republican Party as a pipe dream. Donna doesn't write memo's about pipe dreams.

Seen any polls showing Black trends to Republicans? I haven't. I'm afraid it is still a pipe dream for us to think that Black Dems will leave the party that has done everything it could to inhibit and discourage Black progress. We're better off going after Hispanic voters where we can possibly pick up a few percentage points because of the Estrada thing. After the smoke has cleared in 2004, I see Blacks voting for Dems over 90% again. Sorry to throw cold water on nice illusions.

That's another encouraging sign. Plus there is that Estrada thing, and the fact that a number of Hispanics ARE getting angry about that.

Donna, that giant sucking sound you hear is the plantation you oversee getting smaller.
