Californians wants a socialist for the next four years. Davis did NOTHING to deserve re-election yet the vote wasn't even close. Why? He's a socialist Democrat and that's what the voters want. Freepers who can't accept that are just being Republican Sore-Loserman.
Now, if Davis has until 2006 to wreak move havok on the state, A Republican just might have a SLIM chance of winning.
Ah, but what if there are TWO "D"s? Or three? Or four? What if Ralph Nader decided that California needs him as the gov? It's far too early to foresee how this is going to shake out. Apparently anyone can get in on the action. So if the "R"s act in a disciplined fashion and just put one candidate forth, and the leftists act like a class of fouth-graders trying to shove their way onto a bus, the "R"s stand a good chance. Given the hash the "D"s have made of things lately, maybe the voters would even choose an "R" over a "D" regardless.
Ahhh - but you see it is a "free for all" meaning that there will not just be ONE "D" - there could be several. There will at least certainly be several "flake" Democrats - just as there were in the primary against Davis in 2002!
