KALIFORNIA KOLLEGE KAMPUS KOOKS VS. DAVID HOROWITZ AND FREE REPUBLIC
Posted on 02/18/2003 3:04:58 PM PST by Cinnamon Girl
Noon time rally at University of California Long Beach. David Horowitz, invited by the College Republicans, spoke about why we should support our president and our troops.
On a grassy knoll at the rear of the crowd, the angry and the ignorant gathered with drums and signs that read: "BUSH IS STUPID," "BUSH IS RETARDED," "BU-- SH--!" "NO BLOOD FOR OIL," ETC. They chanted "Bull sh--!" and "Racist" (which I guess applies to any Republican or person who supports President Bush) while David Horowitz talked about human rights atrocities in the Sudan, Iraq, North Korea, and asked why the "No War" nuts weren't upset about any of that.
In case anyone reading this didn't get the memo, these "anti-war" protesters are really ANTI-BUSH. (please read their signs when BobJ posts them tonight.) And they aren't interested in any honest debate. They shouted over David Horowitz and Shawn Steel, who spoke afterward.
Part two of the memo is that the protesters are ANTI-AMERICA. They booed when Horowitz said that, but one girl was holding an upside down American flag with industry symbols in place of the stars. And another American flag sign read "the people are sheep" and "land of the pigs."
One old guy was walking around with a sign advertising the communist radio station Pacifica and explaining to anyone who would listen that Bush was appointed by the Supreme Court.
P.S. Rather than getting busy doing something about gangs and the school system, the LA City Council is discussing their own anti-war declaration.

These anti-Bush protesters wish their signs and puppets were an offering of meaningful debate, but before people get all sweaty thinking there's a "big anti-war movement" they should go to one of these rallies and see what's really going on.

Thanks for the excellent report. The protestors don't have any answers or even know about the atrocities committed. There was an anti-war demonstration in SLC last month, the mayor of SLC, Rocky Anderson, got on the mike and said "The UN should take care of the Iraq problem!" to thunderous applause. Well, as much applause as 200 people can muster. It makes you want to shake these people and say "The UN has been 'taking' care of this problem for the last 12 years, and look where we are."

All of the freaks, goons and gorons from the 2000 Election Fiasco the Demo
rats wrought upon us have crawled out of their holes for this nation-wide protest.
Saddam Hussein has become a surrogate Al Gore to stand in opposition to George Bush. Never mind the fact that Hussein is a tyrant responsible for the Gulf War, Mass Murder of Millions of Civilians and most likely has already provided Al Queada terrorist cells with WMDs to use against innocents world wide.
Choosing between the two, they get all warm and fuzzy over Saddam.
It really puts it into perspective about who we are dealing with when it comes to these protests.
The one good thing about the delay in this dismarmament of Iraq is that our enemies, local and otherwise simply couldn't help themselves and ran as quick as they could to embrace "the devil" and trod upon old glory.
What a bunch of worthless trash they are.

Good on all of you for being there. Well done!
How many were there for "our" side? Any press? Was the audience able to hear Mr. Horowitz and Mr. Steel, despite the Communist disruptors?

the angry and the ignorant gathered with drums and signs Drums ... For real? They're just like whiny brats who have to make noise to drown out anything contrary to their own way of thinking -- most particularly, anything that makes sense. Thanks for the report, Cinnamon.

I'm so glad David Horowitz came over to OUR side. He knows the truth about these anti-war folks. These college students, if they didn't have mush for brains, would do well to listen to him tell it like it is.

No doubt. The fellow travelers in the media did their best to make the "extreme fringe left" appear to be mainstream America, rising up. Thank God for the internet and the opportunity to research and reveal the Communist roots of the anti-War protests.

I was watching the news last night, and they showed the human shields in Baghdad. The human shields were just a banging away on their drums. Reminded me of the pictures I saw of the sixties and the hippies and the drums.

"And they aren't interested in any honest debate. They shouted over David Horowitz and Shawn Steel, who spoke afterward."
. . .civil discourse is not part of their MO; sad, these folks wield their own brand of terrorism. . .and they are just as repulsive because they do not respect 'Freedom'.

There were t.v. cameras there. I for sure saw an NBC camera, but I don't know what other press. RonDog will know. Those of us up front could here David (he had a mike) although the anti-Bush group was loud. There were some College Republicans and FR people holding signs, then a lot of people just standing around listening, mostly.
