Did anyone actually believe (besides the pro-Sodom crowd) that the U-2 overflights were REALLY unannounced and random?

Uh, doesn't giving Iraq advance 48 hour notice of a spyplane's flight plan defeat the purpose of these flights in the first place?
What am I missing here?

But destroying the Al Samouds would rob Iraq of a potentially valuable weapon which it considers legitimate for its defense at a time when it faces tens of thousands of American and British troops poised for a possible invasion. The new york times said this? Nice to have our own against us! (I knew they were though)

I would give them 48 hours notice, file enough flight plans to cover the entire country, then fly them ar our convenience.

NOT ONLY do the Iraqi's get 48 hours notice, but THIS:
The Iraqis also were notified of the flight paths...
Under these circumstances, do the surrender monkeys, of all nations, really think this is legit?
To: muleskinner
The Flight paths too.OMG!!!!!
Why don't they just let an Iraqi FLY THE PLANE!!!!!!!!

Perhaps Jimmy Carter should ask Saddam how much advance notice he needs before the American attack commences.
