BEAUFORT, N.C. -- You can get fries with your order at Cubbie's, but just don't ask for french fries.
"Because of Cubbie's support for our troops, we no longer serve french fries. We now serve freedom fries," says a sign in the restaurant's window.

"It's our way of showing our patriotic pride," he said, noting that his business has a lot of local military troops stop by as customers. "A lot of them stop here on their way back to Cherry Point.""and from now until we wipe out Saddam, we're having a special on frog legs."

Ping!!!This might brighten your day.
I still think we should have "smart bombs" and "French bombs". :o)
To: Constitution Day
Why don't you lot do what we do and call them "chips".
As for "potato chips" in the American sense, we call them "crisps".
Regards, Ivan

I had four semesters of french in college and that's about as much as I could stand!
What's the french word for surrender?

Je n´ai sais pas. That means "I don´t know" - and was my most-used sentence in French (I had it on "High School" for two years... I started with C and at the end I had E-F, but... who cares?).
I can take a look in my French "dictionnaire" ...

Please read my post today about a French 'Voice in the Wilderness". Bruno José LeBeau is a 'conservative' Frenchman who is as appalled by Chirac's and Villepin's appeasement policies as we are and has written and posted several articles supporting Pres Bush and Tony Blair.
Now is a good time for us in the US to help the noveau 'Free French' in their epic struggle to oppose THEIR own nation's policies of vile appeasement by reading and supporting their heroic websites.
