Another LOTR fan! Welcome to the club! I have the LOTR-FOTR extended version (so does the rest of my family) - bought a 27" TV just so I can enjoy it. Can't wait for the LOTR-TTT extended version. Watched the movie 3X already. It's funny because every time I watch it I always pick up something new. We watched it with my aunt the last time who is a big fan too and she said something really funny. She said Treebeard and the Ents remind her of the UN - they move so slow and it takes them forever to make a decision! LOL! The lady who was with us in the elevator when we were dissecting the film laughed with us. However, for some reason I just could not get into The Silmarillon. Maybe I should try and read it again. My sister in Manila brought my mother to watch it and she said she likes Legolas too because he is always neat and clean compared to Aragorn. Well, he's an elf, what do you expect? My niece and I have a big crush on Legolas too. Now those characters are REAL MEN! I love LOTR - it shows love, courage, friendship, loyalty, valor and REAL MEN who willingly fought evil to the end and who were not afraid to die! Did I say REAL MEN? It will not win the Oscar for best picture precisely because of these sentiments expressed in the story. The book itself is timeless.

Bentfeather, you have to watch it or at least read the book. It's a classic!
