Hey, I don't mean to defend her... Just saying I'm not sure I wouldn't be a raving lunatic if I was in her shoes that night. My only problem is the length of time she'll serve.

She lost her license
She's going to prison
The whore is suing her
The stepdaughter is suing her

She'll be lucky to walk free with a decent change of clothes by the time she gets out. Plus, I can't say this woman is a threat to public safety... He was a low life who actually LISTED her shortcomings in comparing her with his mistress, for heaven's sake. What a JERK!

I don't claim to defend her or her now dead and formerly cheating hubby. But I still say divorce court was the route she should have taken. Not throught the parking lot and over him three times. I posed the other question just as a thinking point. A hypothetical if you will.

If the situation was reversed and it was the husband that ran over the wife with the kid in the car, there would be zero sympathy for him and the guy would get life in prison with no parole. Just my opinion.

Exactly my thoughts. Especially here in the Peoples Republic of Washington. Anyway, if hubby was cheating, why didn't she simply leave? Talk to the lawyer? Get half the ten million he was worth and start a new life? In my opinion she got off easy. Murder is murder. She should have gotten life.

ok, good point..let me say that, while killing the guy was not wise..it was at least, understandable. However my husband has said that he'd be afraid to cheat on me because he'd be afraid I'd murder him in his sleep.. I told him a cheating husband wasn't worth risking your eternal soul over.

I'm not sad for Clara. Amazing you have sympathy for a conniving, manipulative murderess. You have zero sense of justice. 9 Texas women on the jury are wiser than you.

I saw Clara outside the other day. Speaking with some of the people I have chatted with recently. People that have known her for years. Because of what I have heard from a lot of people I don't have a "zero sense of justice", I have a different point of view. Don't get on my case for that. I'm local to this. And I just don't believe that she intended to kill him.

You say she is a "conniving, manipulative murderess". If I could find anyone that knows her that would say the same thing or something similiar I would have posted it. But instead I post things that I have heard from people that know the woman and her husband. And some folks have been a bit harsh with me. Which does not bother me. It just makes me wonder why I wasted my time trying to clue in some fellow Freepers only to get dissed by some of you.

My pleasure. Thank you !

I was just about to walk out the door to grab a Subway sandwich when I heard FOX News say something about 'the sentence', and that caught my ear. Glad it did too !

I'm with you. I would never want this woman to be in a position to influence the children's lives.

yeah, i had heard that it was legal to shoot your spouse and their lover if you catch them in the act..at least in Texas that is... I also heard it's legal to shoot a repo guy if you catch him taking your vehicle.

I agree with you... She should have cleaned his clock in divorce court. She could've taken that damned "list" he dictated to her - comparing her with his mistress - and literally wiped him out financially for what he did.

I just think the guy was on a massive ego trip for screwing around on her and then rubbing her nose in it.

I'm sure she was outraged, and for good reason, but she blew it. She's ruined too many lives to walk free. But I still think 5 yrs would cover it as far as teaching her a lesson.

20 years,she got off easy.

This is a slap on the wrist as far as I'm concerned. She can receive parole after serving just ten years.

I heard on FOX that she's attempted suicide twice since the murder.

women cheat for love or power, men cheat because frankly, they haven't got the self control that God gave lint.

And that 10 years doesn't count any time she's already served or serves prior to her arrival at the women's correctional unit in Huntsville. And it doesn't factor in the time knocked off for the ever popular "good behavior".

Wait a minute! I thought she said she could kill him and get away with it?!

She was probably passing up the front page showing the Texas executions and went right to the business section every day !

>>for example....shouldn't the woman who caused all of this be on trial as well?.<<

Because she committed no crime.

I've met a few women who had that same self control problem too.
