Do you think they will get the message?

The people of France are not anti-American, the communists and marxists of France are.

I believe we should bring home all of the soldiers buried in the American cemitaries in France. The French are showing NO respect for the sacrifices made by Americans on their behalf. Have you been to our cemitaries in France in June?
The Frogs may have contempt for the United States, but they take better care of our war dead than we do, frankly.
Every school child in the area is assigned a grave. They learn the story of "their" G.I. and on June 6 they manicure his grave and place a small American flag on it.
I wish to God we treated our war dead buried in this country as well.

I agree, bring em' back.

I hear your anger about how the Leaders of France are treating America
But I think it is best to let our soldiers rest in peace and we should not dig up their bodies

If we were to do that, I believe that soldier's death was in vain. They are proof that they fought and gave their all for a cause, worthy or not.

I would think that an appalling development. Those soldiers fought and died for that land - where they should rest in peace as a testament to their time of glory.

One of the best-kept secrets of World War II was that the U.S. didn't exactly "liberate" France. In fact, the Vichy government was the legitimate government of France at the time. The U.S. simply supported one faction in France against another.
For a variety of reasons, most of the French were quite content having a government in cahoots with the Nazis.

Either that, or move the graves to England, a country that understands what we fought for then, and are fighting for now.

Heard Rush tell a great story today.
Tom DeLay was having a discussion with a Frenchman. They couldn't agree. Tom stopped talking and then said, "do you speak German". The Frenchman said, "no?"
Tom said, "Thank you very much!" and walked away!!
Priceless!

I believe that those brave men are rolling in their graves right now. I say lets bring them home with great fanfare and create a special cemetary for them where they can rest with honor and dignity.

As a symbol of the terrible price paid by some to secure the liberty of many , the dead buried at Normandy serve as a powerful symbol of the sacrifices made by Americans for Europeans, and all other peoples whom we have fought to liberate.
It is a point lost on those currently leading the French people, but not on the New Europeans; they have more recently felt the lash of tyranny, and have an affinity for the shining city on a hill that America represents. Leave our dead soldiers to lie in peace, and to inspire the next generation of liberty loving Frenchmen to do their part to secure the God given legacy of freedom their leaders seem to have so little use for ....
