FR gets it first again! Just makes good, common sense! Especially after hearing Senator Inhofe say the OK Hispanic group had requested a meeting with him on Saturday to see what they could do to help this nomination!

Between McConnell and the other senator who's wife is going under the knife (and I don't care what any of you say, I'd leave DC for my wife's operation also), we only have 49 remaining...a tie with the democrats.

Actually, that is not correct. Both Bob Graham and John Kerry are out recovering from surgery, so the Republicans would still have a 49-46-1 majority.

TLB...

250,000 American troops are in harms way, with war a minute away and Frist sends those overworked senators home for a vacation. Here we have cheerleaders backing Frist all the way. Guess they do not care about the troops. I have friends over there, will have to email them and tell them the Senate is on vacation, go ahead and start the war without them.

I'll trust Michael Barone's take on things LONG before that of some folks who just sit in back of a keyboard and gripe.

If Frist is backing off on the recess, he had a good reason.

Really..... gang up on you..... now that's a stretch after all the ganging you do.

So what are they gonna accomplish? Do you know why this is being done? Hell know you don't but that doesn't keep you from sliding off the fence you ride and onto the other side.

Yep you pay them a week or a year or a term that's the way things go, like it or not....

Now what are you....... or did you forget that part?

These people have all the answers don't they. What they don't understand is they are just behind a keyboard too! Instead of being outraged they will now have to tell us all how wonderful it is and there just has to be a wonderful reason that they needed to leace town now. Oh well again they drop the ball. But wait time to attack me so they feel important and it will get everyones minds off the real issue.

Any idea how much the Senators are paid per week?

Frist to Daschle: "That's what politics IS. Show 'em one thing..."

SMACK!

"Then you give 'em something else!"

POW!

Frist: "Don't look at my fists, look at my shoulders! That's where the punch--" THUMP! "--is coming from!"

On Fox tonite, someone was telling about the most apt target of terrorists in next few days is Washington, now I wonder if that had anything to do with the Senators urgency to leave town????

You know what? I don't know why Frist did this. But NEITHER DO YOU.

I have learned that there are a lot of things that go on in DC that are under the radar, and we don't see the underlying reason until much later.

Now, should this turn out to be a mistake, I will be the first to admit it. But if we have people in the hospital who can't vote, and another whose wife is undergoing surgery, I think perhaps there might be underlying reasons for this.

In addition, Hispanics are up in arms and will be ranting at the Senators when they go home.

Someimes there is a more subtle way to approach things. Until the Republicans totally dump Estrada (not likely), I am going to wait and see what happens.
