GO AHEAD AND TELL ME ONE DAMN FACT THAT OUR PRESIDENT
ONE OF THE GREATEST IN AMERICAN HISTORY
HAS DONE WRONG BECAUSE OF THE ENRON COMPANY.
See, here you go again: you've changed yet again:
Prove to me Bush isn't a liberal Republican advancing the commie rats agenda?

Facts:
1. See post #276 You flip flopped on this thread re recess appointments.
2. Due to an emergency, we would have only had 49 GOPers.
3. Frist made the decision, after this occured, to avoid a procedural loophole that would have allowed the Dems to gain the upperhand re: this nomination...and he allowed the recess. After this recess...we will have 51 Senators.
4. You indulged in an emotional reaction and called the GOP Senators "all liberals"...which you know to be false.
Did I miss any FACTS?

Well well.....I waded into the Lott capitulation up to my neck a few months ago strictly because I loathe PC heavyhandedness...just my own issue I suppose.
Now, I look and see the same players on this forum duking it out over an evolution of the same problem: How Pubbies Should Behave/Govern.
I'm just going to what and see. It's way too early to judge Frist just yet in my view. I do indeed feel that Frist takes his marching orders more directly from Dubya and Rove than did Lott.
The Senate is a peculiar chamber isn't it?
I met today here with the Frist family company's pension plan and options managers coincidentally. Had I known such a tempest was brewing here, I would have subtly prodded for some scoop...lol....if they had any.
Keep up the good fight ...all of ya!

Someone on another thread had seen the GOP ad re: Estrada playing in NC. Said it was very powerful and ended w/ a message that everyone should call Edwards and urge him to allow a vote on Estrada.

"Yes The President has listened to me before and one of them was during Enron."OMG, Todd you can't believe that President Bush would pass over the advice from his highly skilled and extremely well qualified cabinet (not to mention his father) and signed on to Free Republic and decided to ignore the seasoned veterans he has surrounded himself and took the advice of an ill informed side walk commando with the screen name of TLBSHOW,
Yea, Yea..... that's the ticket.
Todd you need to be on some kind of alert system simular to the "Amber Alert" when you contribute to these threads, Maybe we can call it the "Dimbulb Alert"

That's good to hear. Thanks for the report. Rush wants this filibuster to last longer, and he's probably correct. I'd like it to end ASAP, but I lack patience.
To: Howlin
And????? What is it like? And is it in Spanish?

Oooooh, that's good. Let's let some time for that ad to sink in, and to apply the pressure to the dems. In the meantime, the senate isn't being tied completely up on Hilary's! own personal agenda. The whole idea of ending a filabuster is to apply pressure to the other side. That is
exactly what a little time will allow to happen.
I'm sure that's lost on some who spent night and day looking for a smoking gun to nail NASA!
To: MainFrame65
True, but I THINK (again) that this confirmation vote cannot be filibustered -
Question: Do you have a source for this or documentation? Just curious. that would be great if it is so.

No, it was English; it had the whole deal about him coming here, learning to speak English.
Ended with please call Edwards.
The voice was kind of cool; one of those "high school" science film guys!

As I said to you in post #318, "I do not mean any disrespect but I'm afraid you're gonna have to prove that one." I'm still waiting. Haven't seen any proof yet.

From what I have read or heard, I THINK that if they ever do hold a cloture vote, they establish (through senate debate rules) that 60 votes will be required at any time in the future to act on the nomination. DING DING DING......move to the head of the class!
YES and two nights ago and late at night, Frist offered to vote in 1 day, in 4 days in 1 wek and in 2 weeks all of which wer rejected by the rats.
Hatch jumped up and OFFERED A CLOTURE VOTE FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY AN UP OR DOWN VOTE on Estrada....also rejected by the rats.
To: SunStar
CNN Crossfire host Robert Novak stated on "Inside Politics" that the underlying reason for this recess was that Congress wants to get out of Washington due to "wives pressure" and "fear of impending terrorist attack" I guess this means that it is ok for the troops to die for freedom, but not Senators.

I am really going to have to "study up" on the rules of how this is suppose to work. The last two days, it seems like all I've posted is "How did HE get the floor?"......LOL.
I saw that little skit with Frist and Hatch.
Heck, Hatch had offered 50 hours to them during the day! But no...
