"Mexican authorities have detained six Iraqi citizens who they believe intended to cross into the United States from Tijuana. The five men and one woman cliamed to be German citizens when they arrived at the Tijuana airport Tuesday night on a flight from Mexico City. Immigration authorities have sent the Iraqis back to Mexico City for questioning. Officials are trying to determine whether the Iraqis might be Caldean Christians, a group which claims it faces persecution in Iraq."

The reason that were captured is because none of them could speak Spanish.

Aziz is sell-out to the Iraqi establishment and is generally recognized as such. He's just like the Jewish member of the Iranian parliament.
As far as the Chaldeans go, they face occasional bouts of persecution every time Saddam decides to show how Islamic he is, but are generally allowed to practice their religion so long as they bow to the edicts of the Baathist Party.
One of the reasons the papacy is attempting to be so nice to Saddam is in order to make sure that if war does break out that the Republican Guard doesn't start rounding up and killing Christians like he did during the last Gulf War in order to prove his pan-Islamism, but this point is by and large missed by a lot of people.
If these guys are Chaldean Christians, they may well be innocent victims of the Iraqi regime. If not, they're likely Mukhabarat (Iraqi intelligence) agents. Though the idea of the Mukhabarat coopting or pretending to be Christian in order to enter the US is likely another possibility.

The news alerts on Fox are like a child that has gotton ahold of a new toy and will play with it nonstop until an adult takes that toy away from them. Someone needs to take the fox news alert toy away from these people. It drives me nuts also. They need an e-mail sent to them.

Essentially.
He sold his soul to Saddam to join the Baathist Party and become the modern equivalent of a prince. Despite his considerable clout among the Baathist elite and his determination to kill those priests who do refuse him communion for his actions, Aziz only obtains deference through fear, not respect. If not for the phalanx of Mukhabarat operatives who follow him anywhere he goes, his body would have been hanging from a lamp post a long time ago.

LOL! I can see it now. They thought they were home free, until the Border patrol agent started speaking to them in Spanish and they didn't know what he was saying!

It does get ridiculous. FOX has the LIVE notice superimposed over the waving American flag. They have news streaming across the bottom of the screen, the animated FOX logo, the current HIGH ORANGE ALERT Status, somebody ushering provocative opinions about the most sensational stories of the day with an additional info banner underneath....and then they constantly break away for a terror alert.
Looks like they are trying to generate maximum excitement to make FOX the most adreneline-filled news network.
