I didn't catch Rush today, but I like the approach you describe precisely because it is based on Republican
principles: lower taxes, strong national security, rewarding hard work, opposition to drugs.
My problem is with appealing to any group based not on principle but on race per se. I just don't think we'll get far trying to paint the Dems as racists.
It's a fine distinction that others here don't see either. But I think there is a difference between "trying to paint them as racists" (which most are not) and "trying to show their utter contempt for their voting blocs" (which they do) and to show their total hypocrisy. THIS is why we must emphasize race---not because we are "pandering to race," but to illustrate that Dem tactics of pandering to race have gotten the various races zip!
