"We never, ever filibustered a Clinton nominee, not once."

That's is precisely where the Republicans went WRONG..
There were PLENTY of Clinton's nominees that SHOULD have been challenged and denied...

Including his Supreme Court nominee -- "Miss Ruth"

Actually, I'm prone to disagree with this. The filibuster is certainly a legitimate legislative tool for the Senate to use. But it is absolutely critical that vacant judicial slots be filled expediently. Given that the political divide in this country is very close to 50-50, if both parties decide to start filibustering every nominee they don't fully agree with politically, I believe it could eventually lead to nothing less than a Constitutional crisis. I don't believe this tactic should be resorted to unless a nominee has something that is so egregious in nature as to render them beyond the pale.

Hatch is nothing more than a blow hard-"all talk no action type". He is a "staunch" conservative when it fits the situation. I bet twenty minutes after his "explosion" he was out at a restaurant with that bloated pig teddy kenndey sipping a $150 bottle of french wine yukking it up.
