Prayer Thread for Yellow Rose of Texas - THIS IS NO DRILL!!
Posted on 02/13/2003 11:28:49 AM PST by TEXOKIE
Long time Freeper Yellow Rose of Texas has recently had an attempted back surgery during which her aorta, which was encased in scar tissue, was nicked and had to be repaired. In a previous prayer thread, many many folks have graciously offered their prayers and comments of encouragement to her. I spoke with Yellow Rose of Texas yesterday and here is the latest!
Her recovery to the previous surgical attempt to do the back surgery has been phenominal. She saw her doctor two days ago on Tuesday. She is doing well enough that he has scheduled her back surgery in a week for TUESDAY FEBRUARY 18, 2003. She had initially been told it would be a few weeks longer to recover, but she has amazed her doctor and he judges that she is ready for the next procedure.
Rose has asked me to thank you each and every one so very much for all your thoughts and prayers on her behalf. She asked me to quote her,
"Thank you so much. I feel each and every one of your prayers. The Good Lord is with me and my family. I dont feel scared at all. This surgery will stabilize my back and it'll all be fine. I feel so protected. I am hoping that this surgery will enable me to once more return to the freeping that I enjoy. It has seemed in my life that if something unusual can happen, it will happen to me. Please pray that the surgery be routine. NO SURPRISES!! LOL!!"

I think such a list would be a great idea! And I agree that a good place to start compiling one is the Canteen thread, because so many military families go there.
Once the list is compiled, it can be made a thread of its own!

"I would suggest starting at the Canteen. If there isn't anything currently there, it is a great place to start one. We have been listing names and addresses (with permission) for care packages. Many service members visit there. "
Good suggestion, beachn4fun, I agree that the Canteen is the logical place to begin our research and perhaps focus our efforts to start one if no one has already done so.

More to the point, how have YOU been doing? We're all still pulling for your own recovery from your January surgery! I'm mostly recovered from the surgery/illness. I still have some fluid and swelling, but hope to lose it as I become more physically active. The good news is that I got a clean bill on health on my colon. No cancer,no polyphs.
