Someone said Hispanics were calling Rush and telling him they were changing their voter registration. Few more days of this and Hillary Clinton will completely tank the DemocRATs in the Hispanic Community.

This Estrada nomination filibuster is being widely reported on the Hispanic channels I have been told!

Senators are notoriously dull on their feet. They're world moves so slowly, in comparison to the White House or even the House of Representatives, that everything they say, ask and vote for is arranged and directed by 25 year old, $40K per year "staff".

It's a bought seat for Democrat trust fund and Clinton-invented dotcom weasels. Look at the Dems ... Mark Dayton, Herb Kohl, John Corzine, Maria "Sold RNWK at $57)Cantwell, Diane Feinstein, John Catsupwidow-Kerry, Bugsy Reid, Ted Kennedy, Jay Rockefeller, Mary "Marcello Moriel" Landrieu, Hillary Streisand-McAulliffe-DeGeneris, John "Boy Named Sue" Edwards ...

Is Paul Sarbanes even alive?

So far it has gone according to schedule, so I'm sure the Republicans will use the evening session to straighten all this stuff out.

"Whatever is buried at DOJ about the clintons must be really something! "

I agree the file must have lots of potentially damning material, harmful to her in particular. However, I feel if it contained convictable evidence, emphasis on convictable, she'd already be on the spit. She has few true friends, IMHO. BUT, even if Estrada never sits on a federal bench he could still pass along information to others, where to look, which files has the good stuff. That is why I tend to think she is just being vindictive, it is personal as much as a political and power struggle.

The person with the informaton on abortion is Hillary Clinton who does not sit on the Judicial Committee and thus why this nomination got out of Committee without the questions.

She doesn't dare come forward with the memo's because then she would be accused of obtaining information through fraudulent means which she did.

We cannot ask a [judicial] candidate what he would do; and if we did and he should answer, we should only despise him for it." So sermonized President Abraham Lincoln to Rep. George S. Boutwell.."

Abraham Lincoln Mastered the English Language. The Lincoln letter in "Saving Private Ryan" makes be bawl like a baby every time.

Your analogy to the polygraph is good, but I would make it even more basic.

All communication between any attorney and their client is privileged. The Solicitor General's office is basically the appellate division of the Department of Justice. Their client is US Government. As a result, the Solicitor General's office and the US Government enjoy an attorney/client relationship.

All work product created in anticipation of any litigated matter is privileged. The memoranda that circulate through a law firm (which explore legal theories, discovery strategies, settlement negotiations) on anylitigated matter are work product. This is a BASIC legal principle. Forcing the US Government to give up the work product of its attorneys would be similar to requiring the attorney to reveal the contents of his private convesations with his client. It would, therefore, completely gut and violate the attorney/client privilege.

Which makes you wonder who's really in control, who has the ear of the public and what we really care about. It definately isn't special interests for abortion and gay/lesbian issues. That has become the dems main platform.
