"fiery temper" Law professor Erwin Chemerinsky tried to malign Estrada on Hugh Hewitt's radio show last week saying that unnamed sources who worked in Estrada's office said he did not have "judicial temperament" (had a bad temper). Hugh got after him for not naming names. (Apparently he was willing to name a couple off the air but not on the air.) Sounds rather racist to me. Besides, having "purple rages" sure didn't stop Clinton from being President, why should the Dems use that keep someone off the bench?

The Regular Guy, who after 3 years in his first elected office, knows how to solve everything. He's always saying that so and so has not done enough. So now he's proposing a Homeland Intelligence organization. Isn't that already in the present Homeland Security?

As many of you know, I am personal friends with Miguel and his wife (who was my wife's college roomate). That being said, any statement that he has a firey temper, like the statement of Sen. John "I love the sound of my voice" Edwards, is total B.S. Miguel is a very soft spoken and genteel person.

Ya know, implying an association between a FReeper and Satan's Beast is something that may be forgiveable. But implying an association between a FReeper and Hitlery - THEM'S FIGHTIN' WORDS!

Shalom.

Hatch was right. Looks like the rats are going to tie this up for the committee as well as the citizen.

Mr. Estrada embodies the White House's scorn for the Senate's role. Dubbed the "stealth candidate," he arrived with an extremely conservative reputation but almost no paper trail. He refused to answer questions, and although he had written many memorandums as a lawyer in the Justice Department, the White House refused to release them.

I know you are an idiot who buys Dem lies hook, line and sinker, but both Dem and GOP AGs have all said such memos are confidential material. They all oppose releasing such priviledged information that relates to specific cases. This is a unusual and HIGHLY IMPROPER request. Whould you want a lawyer you hired to release *your* case information and violate client-lawyer confidentialities??? They have no business being public.

As for the idea that a full set of hearings and unlimited oppty by senators to ask written questions is not enough "answering questions" for Democrats, the fact is, the Dems are upset that Mr Estrada didnt shoot himeself in the foot with any controversial comments. he gave answers to all questions. he went before the USSC 15 times. He has very high qualifications. he worked for years in Clinton/Reno Juctice Dept. There is little unknown about Mr Estrada.

That is not enough for the Dems, because Estrada is a modeerate/conservative Hispanic, and it is a disaster for Dems to have non-Left-liberal minorities on the Federal bench. The Dems want a full-bore pro-choice Liberal candidate or nothing at all. They want ammo for their anti-Aestrada witch hunt and will invent it if they cant find it.

One would hope GOP Senate leadership would learn the real deal truth over the years, but they just don't seem to get it sometimes. This is exactly why stolen elections in Michigan (2000), South Dakota, Louisiana, New Jersey and Washington are worth agressively challenging at the time of the crime. The Lautenberg switch, the Harken espionage, the Johnson Indian-reservation fraud, the 105% voter turnout in Wayne County for Stebanow, the Moriel crime family, the absentee ballot scandal in the Cantwell/Gorton race - every single GOP Senate vote counts. Expecting the Democrats to NOT filibuster, expecting 7 Democrats to have integrity and respect for their duty is always a LOSER. Thune should be in office. Gorton should be in office. Abraham should be in office. The Toricelli switcharoo should have been litigated to the SCOTUS, and Frybrained Frank should never have been seated. If you have 56 GOP votes instead of 51, it makes all the difference in the world in exactly these kinds of situations. The Dems need to be crushed with raw political payload, not afforded accomodations or granted partnerships. They're soulless vipers hellbent on destroying the GOP and our individual rights and prerogatives. This Estrada thing is like the Clinton impeachment .... there AREN'T seven Democrat Senators who have a modicum of honor, duty or integrity. This is a war for America. Let's understand that the Senate is the chief battleground - through its stewardship of judicial placements - for control of our country. The Dems have no intention of prevailing through legislation won in an arena of open political debate and accumulated popular consensus, they're going to do it through their corrupt Judges and the regulatory fiat these jurists enable. The media will run interference for their vile schemes. Vermont needs to pay for the treachery of Leahy and Jeffords, but nobody with an "R" after their name seems to have the mettle. Some here think this current process is hurting the Dems, but nobody but us knows what is going on. The filibuster is not being covered by the network outlets or the daily print press.

I loved seeing Hatch go gonzo yesterday, but the Democrats have very little independence to move off the Party plantation. The DNC funding is highly centralized - the Democrat political clientele of identity parasites are takers not givers - and anyone who strays finds the money spigot suddenly closed.

There better be NO funding for the NE dairy compact in this years Ag bill. In fact, Bush needs to make the Ag bill a hammer, because eight or nine of the guys opposing his every initiative are Ag subsidy bagmen from the Dakotas, Wisconsin, Iowa, Florida and Minnesota. They need to pay a big price for their deceit, and taking the farm cash from them takes their jobs from them.

Byron York's latest Estrada Update from NROL:

Senator Orin Hatch, chairman of the Senate judiciary committee said today that Republicans would keep talking “until hell freezes over” as long as Democrats keep up their filibuster of judicial nominee Miguel Estrada. Hatch told reporters today that it is likely the Senate will go into recess next week. Because two Republican senators cannot be there for personal reasons, Republicans will not have a majority to keep the Senate in session. But, he said, when the Senate returns from the Presidents’ Day recess, he expects lawmakers to return immediately to debating Estrada Posted at 01:48 PM

Attention, Senate recess coming up, time to make recess appointments!

This is a Democratic witch hunt.
Have they no shame?
