He spoke that impromtu.

Slammed Iowa's senator as being lead around with talking points.

"Nor do I want some stupid staffer putting words in the mouth of a Senator...and to make accusations that aren't justified."

"I keep hearing that Miguel has no record. That's a slander. And those who have written it..it's libel."

Another zinger.

Well those RATS in heavy Hispanic areas have sold their soul to the Devil on this one that's for sure. They are so blinded by their quest for power and their total blind allegience to the abortion idiots that they don't realize what kind of corner they've painted themselves into. But have you ever stopped to think that GW knew something like this might happen when he re-nominated Mr. Estrada?

We're building a nice file of Hatch quotes.

Sen. Hatch:

"Why are we using this red herring to justify a filibuster against one of the finest nominees I've seen in 27(?) years.."

"My Democratic colleagues are creating a new double standard that applies only to Miguel Estrada."

"I think everybody out there must know by now."

"Every living solicitor general has denounced the Democrats' demands - four of them Democrats."

"All seven of them have said "this is ridiculous"..that the justice department should not turn over the (internal memos..)."

Sen. Hatch de-bunking the lies from the Dem. Senators - "precidents" that aren't.

A memo the Democrats obtained re. a judiciary nominee was leaked. They called that "precident." NOT! Says Sen. Hatch...on and on. The Dems. are either bad lawyers or big liars protected by a corrupt mainstream press. The American people have been BADLY served by these Senators, and by our press.

He well knew....so did all his advisors. And the implications are?

The Dems practically dared Bush when they pulled the sheet over Lott. I have no doubt that Bush knew the possibility but it shows the Dems colors.

The Dems are indeed

THE NEW OBSTRUCTIONIST PARTY"

Just saw the first Estrada commercial on
FOX. Here in North Carolina it says call John Edwards and complain. It is very dramatic and should be effective.

I thought at first I was watching a replay from last night. Orrin is wearing the same tie he wore last night.

Everytime I hear him say "stoop to that level" I think "stupid at that level"! IMO many of today's speakers are uneducated as to the constitution and the law. Do we know if any of them are lawyers?

Now the problem is, could they ever go for a vote and save face??

My hunch is that a few Democrats will start getting a little heat about stalling, so they will make a big announcement about "the interest of the country and the international situation" and how they will take the high road and let the vote come to the floor. That way they don't have to admit that they have got their a** kicked and can instead look like they let principle come before politics.

It gives the Repubs a chance to look at the Dem tactics as a couple of Supreme Court Justices may leave and break up the Dem base.

Do you both remember, after the Lott thing, there were murmurings about "now Bush wouldn't dare do such and such" because he would now look like he's a rascist? What was it that I'm remembering here? Was it certain pet liberal programs?......(my eyes are clear and bright, but I'm not here"

I find it ironic that it's not Bush and the pubbies who look like rascists, but the Rats.....do you think this is why Bush put forth Estrada first?

That's great! Now we just need to get the mainstream newsmedia to cover the story accurately.

That may very well be part; I also think it was to turn around what Lott "did to the party" by "saying what he said" (and I am not in the bandwagon of accusing him of doing anything but being stupid).

Personally, I want this fillibuster to go on until the dems' tongues hang down to their knees and they drop in their tracks babbling the same boring and blatant lies they've been repeating over and over and over.

. Americans WILL wake up because deep down, they believe in fair play, and this AIN'T it.

If Estrada is being nominated and lionized because he's Honduran-Guatamalan-Panamanian-Korean-African American or any other fluke of God's whim, then shame on the GOP. That's what the other guys do.

Estrada sounds like a brilliant legal mind, an original intent devotee, a great man and yes ... his story is an American treasure.

This is a pissing match over the Hispanic vote that is unwinnable for the GOP in fillibuster. The battle over a Bush recess appointment of Estrada, necessitated by this Democrat sleaze, is nothing BUT winnable for Bush and the GOP because it will be waged in the light of day.

I don't care what your view of our immigration scene is, every individual who has come here legally or illegally has come here to attain the life and success that Miguel Estrada has EARNED. It's nothing but a winner, regardless if the immigrant is Mexican, Somali, Jamaican or Russian, here leglally or illegally, taking welfare benefits or not. Unless they are here conducting organized crime or plotting murder and mayhem, Estrada's story is an American jewel and every immigrant, i.e every American, can be uplifted by this fact of our blessing as Americans. It's his life, his success and his fulfillment of the human quest that resonates, and yeah ... Hispanics can identify more than others. But, it's his talent and achievement that works, not his country of birth or race. It's Americas beauty ... and if the RATS mess with that, they're history. They won't.
