Well he kept it short, that's good. I hate that he dissed Bush.
Bush has done in 2 years something that none of them have been able to do in all the dems career as politicians...give America and her citizens a reason to be proud again.
Thank you Mr. President.

Wouldn't surprise me to see them give up the ghost on this nomination before longI don't. I think this is a do or die ditch for them. They believe they lost because they were not strong enough against Bush. They will play that out to the end.
Estrada's nomination will be the focal point for one of the last key battles for the far left. They have nothing to lose by standing firm.

Do we know this for fact? Or is the "play" on Hispanic channels just rumor?

Didn't Hillary bail out Patty Murrary after she won the election
I recall that Patti took out loans and used her stock as colleterial .. but when the Dot.coms tanked she didn't have the money and Hillary held a fundraiser for her
I also recall a couple stories of Hillpac lending money to canidates during the election campain

All I see is that they are going on recess next week back to their districts.
Am I missing something?

The big difference between the GOP and Democrats is that GOP donors have private sector jobs, invest in their world, give money to individual candidates as well as organizations like the NRSC and RNC, and pay money so that government might leave them alone. They invest in freedom, prosperity and security
Democrat voters earn their lotto payday by hauling their fat asses to a polling booth every two years, or having a part of their wages from politically crated and protected government jobs withheld. Then, they stand impatiently with palms up for "the gubomint" to rain a manna of money, civil service jobs and perks on their own bad selves, and the cash better be big and quick. Give money to a candidate ... "are you crazy? I voted, you give money to me!"
So, the RATS depend on Terry McAulliffe, who's controlling the Union, Tort bar, Hollywood and Wall Street bond money that has come in waves to his grubby paws over the years. If you please him, you get the cookie. If you displease him, well, you can organize your own fundraisers among the poor and stupid who pull the "D" lever.
It's kickback. The folks like the trial lawyers who slop at the regulation buffet, Hollywood scum who run bullsh*t accounting scams to enrich themselves and avoid taxes, the community groups and academia and educrats and various other prostitutes will pay because they're raking in the dough by the BILLIONS through Dem programs. RATS out of power can't pay da man. Folks won't vote how the union rep tells them or tear themselves away from Judge Hatchett on election day if there's no cash in it for them.
This Estrada thing is to pry some cash from the abortion, tort bar and Enviromentallyill patronage scum. Money. Money. Money. Need some, the dotcom thieves are broke or sitting tight, and that "f***er" Feingold screwed up the beautiful soft money scam.

WE HAVE NOT LOST. This is a game of who BLINKS FIRST. Dem staffers are no doubt getting tired of this. Soon the commercials will start. MAKE THEM BLINK FIRST. Keep calling, emailing, faxing...your senators, Frist, Hatch, etc.
To: VRWC_minion
I shudder to think how emboldened the RATS will be if we kowtow to them on this. They've already gone back on what the said is the "gold standard" for any judicial nominee and that is a well qualified from the ABA. The RATS would sell out their mothers to get control of congress again.

They have nothing to lose by standing firm. They have a lot to lose if Bush responds to each such filibuster by giving a recess appointment not just to the filibustered nominee, but also to a lawyer who is much too far right to have a chance of being confirmed by the Senate. Stack the courts! Make them pay!

Senator Inhofe's speech in spanish last night played here at the 10:00 o'clock news on whatever Hispanic channel we have. LULAC is buying ads I have been told as well.

What good would a call for cloture do? We don't have the votes to force a vote and win. AND...the Republicans have NOT wanted to be perceived as forcing a 'real' filibuster. What we have now is just and ongoing 'debate'.

But it doesn't say Frist is calling for a cloture vote. So far, this means back to square 1 when the resume.
It may work to our advantage if Bush and his supporters could put local pressure on the RATS. It could also work to our advantage if people are upset. It could also make the RATS look more obstructive if they take time off only to resume this debate during normal time.

HillPAC was tossing money around the the warious RATS for their mid-term elections like she was printing it herself.
