Clinton administration deputy national security adviser Jim Steinberg says anti-French feeling is increasing in the U.S., according to the Financial Times. Concerned that it could get worse, Steinberg added: "The next two weeks are going to have a profound impact on transatlantic relations. There is a consensus that whatever the U.S. has done wrong, it does not justify the way the French and the Germans are playing this."

How typical of a Clinton official. No matter who does what, he can't shake the notion that the U.S. is somehow to blame.

"Great Britain ranked at the top of the list of 26 nations with a +83 percent favorable rating, while Iraq rounded off the bottom with a -85 percent score. Iran and North Korea, the other two nations identified by President Bush as comprising the "axis of evil," joined Iraq at bottom of the list. "

Does anyone have the full list? Or know where I can view it? I want to see where Israel and a number of other countries are.

Don't ever forget that the French denied the US overflight permission when we staged the raid on Lybia!

The French have done not one thing to assist the US in our war on terrorism, even going back 20 years.

Their behavior never changes.

This is only the begining. I would like a new poll results, after the war with iraq begins. I sure would not feel too good to be a french man/woman in America. I would also like to see the sales volume change on french wine, cheese, perfumes,....

France aint getting their way and I am a little concerned that they would rather destroy all aliances in the civilized world than get caught with their hand in the Iraqi cookie jar.

I don't believe that's the issue. They're going to get caught when the war goes down, regardless. Their only hope of getting away with it was to come discreetly clean to the U.S., and give us full support on the war effort. In exchange, all the French fingerprints would magically "go away". No harm, no foul.

There must be some other game afoot.

And the telephone number for the French Embassy is:
Ya gotta like, "if it wasn't for us, you'd be speaking German."

Let's do more than annoy the French.

Let's send him a white feather.

They gambled that they could prevent the removal of Saddam, and thus not have to come clean at all. They lost, and by the time it was clear that they had lost it was too late for that.

Those swamp canaries haven't changed since the days they were in league with the Barbary Pirates and later colonized the Barbary States.Give a Frenchman a rifle and he'll build a monument to it.

Who elects your govt? The sparse rural people might be pro american, but the socialists far outnumber these types as their govt shows.

Spent two years stationed in Europe. Been to France on numerous occasions - as well as Ecole Speciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr. Your comments fall on ears that have heard anti American jeers. Try again, mes ami.
