It's interesting to remember that Jeff Sessions was one of the G.H.W. Bush nominees to the federal bench left unconfirmed at the end of President Bush (I) term. I would bet Dems were saying at that time that he was radical nominee and out of the mainstream.

Looks like people of Alabama thought otherwise and elected him to the Senate.

Thanks much for bringing that up about Senator Sessions. I had forgotten that happened! Senator Sessions was just overwhelmingly re-elected in Alabama so they know a good man when they see one!

He also has one of the nicest staffs in the Senate when you call his office!
