I believe they changed the rules a while back, so that they can Adjourn, etc.....
And yes, It sucks, they should have to hold the Floor like Ole Strom did....

He looks like a child molester. Is that because he resembles that Westerfield guy from California who got death for killing the Van Damme child?

GOP PLANS SHOW OF FORCE ON ESTRADA [Byron York] There's word that all Republican senators have been directed to be in their seats on the Senate floor tonight at 9 p.m. EST to discuss the Estrada nomination. It's not clear how long the show-of-force will last -- it could be for just an hour or it could go past midnight -- but it is apparently intended to show GOP resolve and unity on the Estrada issue in the face of the latest Democratic threats to the nomination (see "Dems Vow Armageddon on Estrada," below).

Just an idea....
Leahy, Kennedy etc won't take a hit for their stances on Estrada.
BUT
Does it strike anyone else as odd the fact that Senator Reid is taking such a public stance on the Estrada nomination?
I mean, he won his last election- in a very weak Republican year- by less than six hundred votes.. He is up for election this year and Nevada does not have a neglible hispanic population.
His defeat for his arrogance and just annoying nature must be ensured.

Since a Majority constitutes a quorom to do business, they should stay, and stay, and stay, and push every possible piece of business repugnant to the Democrats in the Wee hours.
And Send for them One every thirty minutes, starting at say midnight, one at a Time as provided for in Senate Rule 6

Please take the time to phone and e-mail the Senate. Senator Bob Graham's office claimed that there were Republicans considering joining the Dems. on this. I said I didn't believe it!
Sen. Bill Nelson's office is claiming that he hasn't made up his mind. I said, "After over 600 days he still doesn't know?" I then asked whether he would know by the end of the day (heh).
The Dems. most corrupt, far-left activists are doing a full court press, but many of the Dem. secretaries are willing to listen to the facts, I'm finding. The Senate needs to hear from us - often!
Freepers, demand that your Senators take a stand!

But when Sen. Byrd speaks I need a translator. I can't make any sense of the point he's trying to make.
Anybody on here understand what he says when he talks???? If someone would offer to tranlate his ramblings, I'd listen.

"Dems Vow Armageddon on Estrada,"
They are going down in flames on this one!!
The Republicans have yet to fire their ammo,
believe me it is coming.
The Univision ads are starting in Ind., Ga.,
and Wash. DC. More states to follow.

That should be when the "official" fillibuster begins. Last night Orin Hatch moved that debate be ended and the DemoncRATs objected. Hatch changed the amount of time, moving debate be closed up to 50 hours into the future. The DemoncRATs still objected. Hatch used that as a probe to justify the next step. Now the Republicans are asking if the DemoncRATs are determined to use "weapons of mass obstruction" and the DemoncRATs say "no, of course not" and other Utah Senator suggests they get the Solicitor General's office to break precedent and get them the infamous internal memoranda. Then the DemoncRATs said, "no, that's not enough, we need to interview him further and ask him lots of endless questions".

I fired off 24 last night!!
Your list made it real easy.
Thanks!!
