Nope, now it's onto to the subject of war, after a poem.
At the least, Byrd in his shaking senility can keep the gender of the presiding President straight. Harry Reid twice referring to Liddy Dole as MR. President.

over/under on Byrd's turn at the mic: 10 hours

"Folks, you couldn't make this stuff up."
Which probably guarantees we won't be seeing any of this on CBS, NBC, or ABC. They would not be very likely to show footage that would make the Dems look like irresponsible idiots who are wasting time as the country nears war.
To: nicmarlo
nic, is that picture real? LOL!
Sen. Byrd woke up, is asking what our founding fathers would say about us going into war.."passively mute in the United States Senate today."
"Mute"!?

God I wish I could see this, but I'm trapped at work with too many ears listening for cspan2.

FOXNews should cut live to this senile old Klansman, and let the American people SEE what the Democrat Senate is about. What an outrage.Yep....far too few have seen them in action.
I always gag and scream when little Tommy Daschle shows up on talking head programs with his disgraceful charade and meek, soft, almost feminine voice. He's banking on the fact that the majority of Americans have not seen the real Daschle.
America needs a huge dose, perhaps overdose, of reality.

Robert Byrd is King of the Fillibuster. Maybe you meant: Robert Byrd is Kleagle of the Fillibuster. Or Grand Wizard or something along those lines...
To: hobbes1
The over/under on Byrd's reminiscences of his conversations with Plautus and Cicero is 35 minutes.
To: AppyPappy
He's a Hondo, from Honduras.

It was funny to hear Senator BYRD talk about his history as a Fiddle Player. It would be nice to ask him if that was before he was a member of the KKK or after his days with the Klan?
Or perhaps he could put a Sheet over his head and demonstrate how he played the Fiddle while wearing his Sheet?

I was really proud of Orrin Hatch also. Amazing how his spine has stiffened since the Republicans took back the SenateOrrin Hatch is wonderful on the Judiciary Committee. He stood up magificently for Justice Clarence Thomas in the Anita Hill hearings...more than just a few years ago.

"Byrd just said that we are planning to attack a sovereign government because we don't like a particular regime. Guess he missed Pwell's speech and 9-11. Get the hook!

Or perhaps he could put a Sheet over his head and demonstrate how he played the Fiddle while wearing his Sheet? ROFLOL !!!!!!! Oh the visual !!!!!
To: Ragtime Cowgirl
asking what our founding fathers would say about us going into war.." You mean like, President Washington, the former general who led us out of bondage, through war, under Britain? Or, was he thinking of someone else? Oh, I know, all the signers of the Independence who said that when a people are under tyrannical rule they should rise up against that ruler....that God has given to Man certain inalienable rights....oh, no, I guess that would work either.
Well, gosh, I'm fresh out of ideas about what Founding Father he'd be looking to discourage war......
