Just because Bin Laden supports Saddam doesn't mean they are in cahoots.

Exactly. If the case against Iraq is strong, why does Powell need to resort to such blatant propaganda?

Here's what we know about this terrorist presence already – before the details are provided by Powell:

Iraq has supported al-Qaida for more than a decade;

al-Qaida has operatives in Iraq today;

Iraq has assisted al-Qaida with the purchase of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons;

Iraq has never stopped its covert attempts to develop weapons of mass destruction;

Iraq itself has been implicated in terrorist attacks on the U.S.

The question is why are you turning towards such blatant denials. Oh yeah, terrorists leaders in part telling the Iraqi people that they are in cohoots with their government given Iraq knew about 9/11 long before it took place and provided training and so forth must of course mean nothing and surely doesn’t warrant us going to war.

I think it helps to confirm Powell's case of Iraq and Saddam linkage which is based on lots of circumstantial evidence. But even if it doesn't, the ends justifies the means. Saddam must go. Powell will never convince the french but he wants as much of the world community as possible to see that our cause is just. We are going in no matter what.
