That's not the way the world works.Your posts over the last year on this subject have consisted of mindless chest-beating dressed up as serious military analysis. Your opinions on this subject are of no interest to me.

Likewise, to suggest that Washington would use 200K troops as a "bluff," with the inherent possibility that the bluff might called, providing Saddam with a huge victory over the U.S., and lifting the morale and enthusiasm of terrorists globally, is absurd to the point of constituting "crapola." Really? Watch.

TGS is gonna be wiping a lot of egg off of his face in two weeks. After he pulls his foot out of his mouth...Maybe he'll just get a new screen name and claim that Iran is and always has been the shadowy global anthrax terror master. (Which will actually, maybe sans anthrax specifically, be much closer to the truth than his current nutty tunnel vision regarding Iraq. Not that Iraq isn't a player, but they don't come close to Iran, which has even cooperated closely with Sunni terrorists. As to Syria, the pencil-necked Assad whelp may be Iraq's beatch, but he is pimped out by Iran, IMHO.)

Is the duct tape and plastic sheeting also effective against nuclear weapons? It seems to me like the plastic would melt. Don't know if you meant this seriously or not. I'm no scientist but it seems the range of the initial concussion would be critical here. There's no time to do anything if you are too close to a nuclear explosion. But if you are down-range and the nuclear fallout is headed your direction, then the same scenario of sealing yourself in and waiting it out til the danger is past would still hold true. But you'd probably be stuck there for a long time so one would hope that you'd have adequate supplies (at least 2 weeks).
I think the threat of a "dirty bomb" is a bit different than a true nuke. I really don't know how long you'd be stuck waiting it out but I'd wait until the media gives you the all clear and then stay in there two more days (given the doltish nature of the media).

I feel like I am back in the 60's, when we always ran down to our basement. One day Daley led the air raid drill after some stupid basebell win and we stayed down there for hours.
All those terrifying drills in school.Waiting for the "A" bomb to drop.

We have the radio with good features and the handheld police scanner.

I have an ancient 1940's Zenith shortwave battery set. It uses tubes, but picks up stations real well. From the 1940s, so no weather or FM but it'll do.

I think that Rummy has a poker face, but I think Bush wears his feelings on his face.
I thought with the press conference that Ashcroft and Ridge's faces were very telling, that is pricesly what worries me. Normally their faces are stationary and no emotions.

I feel good knowing our troops are in your hands. Thank you.

I also included the radios mentioned above, all battery powered
I have a radio, should the batteries run down, that we can handcrank for 15 min time each time.

Call me a loon but I'm not going to go to extremes. When the Judeo Christian God determines this is when it will happen. These evil thugs dont control God. It is the Judeo Christian God that calls the shots. If He wants you to live, you will. If God doesn't you won't. He has always taken care of me and nothing has changed.

Thanks guys. If I could take 24 years of military and law enforcement experience and give it out in one blurb, I would love to do it just to help. The most important thing, bar none is this:
We dont let the bastards win, and we dont let them scare us. We adapt, overcome, and defeat them in the most humiliating way we can, so they think twice about it the next time.
I was at the Oklahoma City Bombing for 4 weeks, saw the Pentagon attacks and supported the operations there for a short time ( the feds flooded the place, and they didnt need us) and I have lived the sniper and anthrax thing. These guys dont scare me. I just want to get my hands around their necks..LOL
If you guys need any questions answered, I dont mind a bit. I'll do my best.

All those terrifying drills in school.Waiting for the "A" bomb to drop. As one of my favorite teachers explained to us, the "experts" had carefully researched it and determined that even if a nuclear bomb dropped right on top of us, crouching in the center hallway of the high school was the very safest place for us to be.
