Would it be useful to have a portable generator you could wheel over to the local gas station, hook up to the fuse box, and get the pumps running? What the other poster said about crazies running around will be true. Plus, the generator would be stolen from you in an instant (and you might be left in a pool of blood). Besides, the police would confiscate the genrator if they saw you trying to do something like like...
Don't go toward people in an emergency, GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!

You're supposed to have the duct tape and huge rolls of plastic, to cover your window(s), to make a room in your house "shelter-in-place". Safe from bio and chemical, if I've read it right.
Doug? Howlin?

They fell for it, then? The human race is a gullible lot overall ... (or at least it consists of a large number of gullible individuals) -
- and those without a true grasp of the situation can be talked into panic (and worse) by a media which must constantly work to fill it's airtime. Some of those capable of being talked into panic include those calling themselves our 'law makers' (i.e., those who make up 'our government').
So, in effect, the answer to your question is yes - although this was not the circuitous route by which you expected the answer to your question to be answered in the afirmative ...

A hoax resulting in a nation not taking prepardness seriously? People don't want to be fooled again, and oh, the ribbing.

Thanks for the post A_P.
FYI ping!

... not taking prepardness seriously? Should not one *always* be prepared? Weren't you a Boy Scout - and didn't part of the motto refer to 'being prepared'.?
My contention/my concern is the 'over-blown nature' a thing like this can take on ...
Be vigilant, report suspicious activity and by all means live your life the way you want to.

Yes, I was one "of those." Rock on. I still haven't used all my Y2K tp. I laugh at terrorists who threaten the world tp supply.

Good post punk. If we had a responsible media in America, theyd forego some of the garbage they spew, and use their immense communicative powers (which they exercise over OUR AIRWAVES) to educate the public about this information.

I think being armed would be a good thing but i dont think its on the list. I didn't see any mention of being armed on the list. I think it is wise to be armed at all times, it will be even more important in a situation where all services have been interrupted.

Thanks for the ping. I'll print this out and store with my "survival kit". Have emailed to my email list. They probably get tired of the stuff I send but can't help it.

Cache's contain more and reloading equipment. I figure with the bug out bag I am equipping myself and three others as needed.
