Southwest would NEVER offer Brazil nuts, why they're just too niggardly.

Easy to find out. I'm sure there is a manifest of all passengers on board. Track them down and find out what was said. If she used the "n" word then the company should pay, but from what it sounds like she said "tiger".

You obviously didn't read the article. No one accused the girl of saying either word. Just the use of the rhyme, or any part of it, is supposedly offensive.

I have been a saleried employee of a major corporation for twenty years. Please be aware that making a statement like yours above would be way more than enough to get me fired. The situation is darker than you know.

Black history month is nothing but one month devoted to racism.

No it's not. That's an overgeneralization and an embarrassment to this forum.

"N***er"? I always thought he word was "tiger". These ladies are pure trash and I can only hope that some judge down the line will throw this case out.

It's scary, isn't it. And I'm pretty sure the racist version was a later regional variation -- not the original version. So if any random verse or saying is ever the subject of racist/sexist/you-name-it-ist knock-off at any point in its history, then according to the legal theory espoused by these whiners and their lawyer, it should forever be grounds for legal action if anyone uses the original version or any other non-__ist version.

The judge should have thrown this suit out instantly, and then launched a legal action against the plaintiffs and their lawyer for filing a frivolous lawsuit.

I'm guessing you are sixty or older.

Darker? Do you have a problem with darker? Please report to the reeducation camp, citizen. :-)

"It was like I was too dumb to find a seat," Fuller said.

That sounds about right.

She didn't say either one. These crazy women heard her say "Eenie, meenie, minie, moe; pick a seat, we gotta go," and it REMINDED them of the racist version they'd heard somewhere, and they ASSUMED it was directed at them, and they ASSUMED other passengers' giggles were directed at them. And now they want to get PAID for all this stuff that happened entirely inside their own heads!

BINGO!

And what do you want to bet...NO ONE will EVER hear ANY part of that rhyme on a Southwest flight again??

And unfortunately, it's just "Good business"...

10 to 1 this judge was a Klintoon appointee.

Sadly, no.

She is an active member of numerous Bar organizations and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Kansas Bar Foundation, and Master, Kansas Inn of Court. Judge Vratil was the presiding judge in two recent high profile antitrust jury trials: Law et al v. NCAA, April 1998 and In re Aluminum Phosphide Antitrust Litigation, October 1995.

I understand. This nation is in need of a wake up call. Perhaps it would a great idea for white americans to take off work for one month each year in commemoration of black history month. We'd see how much work got done.

Then I guess we better stop referring to black people as "black" or "African-American" because these words have taken the place of that dreaded word "nigger". I guess the reasoning is that if we use one word in place of another word, but somebody feels offended nonetheless by the newer word because it "reminds" them of the offensive word that it replaces, then you can be sued for using the newer word, even though the newer word is completely benign and non-offensive.
