"I have lived in the South all my life and have eaten Brazil nuts for the same length of time. I never heard them called Brazil nuts until I went to college."

Ha! Me too! See post here.

Lord, let me be jury foreman for one of these stupid, idiotic lawsuits.

You do have to be careful. Right after Christmas this year I was talking to a friend of mine on the phone while shelling left over nuts. I have two Great Danes who love to eat nuts. So when my friend asked what I was doing I replied without thinking that I was feeding my dog "Brazil nuts". What I actually said was not PC. He is also from the South, but there was still a little hesitation on the line.

Your urban myth was at least believable, and set in the distant past making it hard to check. I don't know why people insist on hanging onto other, more easily verifiable, rumors, like the two different origins for Marilyn Manson, or the idea some Freepers have that we originated "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" or "going to war without the French...."

A loser pays system would stop this kind of nonsense.

A judiciary that was not infested with fellow travelers wouldn't hurt either.

push this ark off the dock and in the direction of the end of the earth, where the dragons live.

If you build the ark and can't get all of them on board, I'll take it off your hands if you promise to send me instead (with lots of bait ;-)

Yes, I have to be particularly careful when out with my Dad (who lives in Tennessee). He's gotten fairly deaf and his old ways die hard, too... the end result is that he speaks in what he thinks is a quiet way, using his long-ago learned and now ingrained language... Arrgh... I sometimes want to crawl under the table (or wish I'd brought my sidearm!).

Oh God Forgive me!!! I knew that an honest lawyer would exist somewhere and the FreeRepublic would be the place to offend an honest lawyer. Having said that I still am skeptical that the lawyers in the legal system would go for a loser pays system.

I ask your forgiveness for making that statement. I know of another honest lawyer and she has my complete confidence.

I always remembered it as "Catch a TIGER by the toe." Are imbiciles going to be next to sue because they were brought up singing "Catch a Sh*thead by the toe?"

Sad to hear that your dad is a racist bigot and never had the courage to change. I think you are in the minority of folks who associate the ryhme with racism.

Most of us on this thread have never heard the racist version.

"I don't recall you asking me."

I recall the Clinton's using similar phrases while testifying under oath-must be a lawyer thing.

I just say Homer say Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys the other day. I didn't know he originated it.

Ummm...

In case you haven't noticed...I don't care what you think...You've obviously clueless...Or a troll...Take your pick...

Cletus.

Are you signing your post "Cletus" or again, trying to insult me by insinuating that I am "Cletus"? Either explanation is quite odd, considering your stance. You say you are a redneck, so hurling the "Cletus" slur makes little sense. However, after all the "redneck" cracks, it also makes little sense that you would sign your post as "Cletus." Seems you are a bit confused. Ironically enough, you also called me a troll. I think you have some issues with projection.

You bore me. For one simple reason...

You just don't get it. Now, go find someone else to bore.

Nice try Sparky but you are taking my words out of context. Read the whole post and maybe you will catch on.

I recall Carville, Begala and their ilk taking Republican's words out of context and using it for their spin. Must be a weasel thing.
