The last strange incident was a car coming out of the military base, the car had a DOD (Dept. Of Defense) sticker on it and they gave a thumbs down.

Someone earlier had speculated this... Well, we all need to remember to hold signs which say specifically Support Our Troops. I know the love-Iraq crowd has been using a few US flags lately to confuse people. Usually it's not a problem because they hate it so much they hardly touch a flag, but occasionally they do have them. The public though, is pretty clear on who loves America or not. IMHO

From my 15 months of counter-protesting, I would guess this is the case too. Drivers don't all have the same eyesight (boy do I ever know that!), and even the ones with top vision can be looking only at the road and the other traffic until the very last second and by that time it's too late to read the words on any of your signs as they go by in a blur. Being at a stop sign is the very best way to ensure that some of your signs will be read. A stoplight is the next best, but you'll still miss a bunch of people who go through quickly.

The best you can do to ensure that everyone has a chance to figure out who you are in the few seconds (or split seconds) they have is to make a very large sign with very large words - and only a very few words at that - to hold at the furthest "upstream" point. If they can't read your words in time, then you can bet the chances are 99.9% that they'll conclude you're ANTI-military due to the fact that conservative street protests are a fairly new phenomenon still in the infancy stage

Surprise the Leftists while arguing with them that they are absolutely right - it IS about oil! --- But it's not the WAR that's about oil. Rather, it's the RESISTANCE TO WAR that is about oil. Where do France and Germany get a large proportion of their oil from? Yup! Iraq. This has made them VERY cozy with Saddam the last decade. In a post-Saddam Iraq that's run by people who detest Saddam and all his overseas friends and supporters, which countries are going to get their spigots cut off, or at least cut back?
