These people are almost funny, in a black comedy sort of way. ;)

So brave, so honorable, so stupid in their convictions, that it makes their convictions fall a part. Chickens, bunch of f%$#en chickens.

Oh, MadIvan, I love you....this made me laugh out loud. I couldn't finish the article. This is as far as I got.
"Yesterday the dwindling group of 40 peaceniks was joined by 35 Turkish volunteers. There was also a shock. Organisers told the human shields they must each stump up $1,000 before they could enter Iraq. In addition, they would have to leave their mobile phones at the border, cutting off all communication with home, and be subjected to tests for HIV."
I'll bet ya within 24 hours we could raise the $1000.00 each to send 'em in there. Heck we might be saving some innocent, decent Iraqi's lives! Sounds like a good trade off to me!
I saw a couple of these fools on the TV the othernight. I can't think of words to describe them. Yes, I can, but I can't use them here. But then traitor seems appropriate since at least one has renounced his citizenship. I'll pay double to get him in there. :<)

I thought the journey would be one long party. That's how you see life and thus you do not see the danger ahead.

The group will hope their experience is more fortunate than Meynells previous experience of a similar peace convoy. In 1956, he drove a van packed with corned beef to aid Hungarians rising up against the Soviets. The vehicle was stopped at the border. Everybody read this a few more times...then explain to me why I can't catch my breath from laughing so damn hard!

We have to show we are together on this, said Tolga Temuge, 36, a Turk who quit his job as campaigns director of Greenpeace in the Mediterranean to travel to Iraq. Good riddance. Maybe Tolga will be standing in front of Saddam's palace when it takes the missile hit?!

[Nichols O'Keefe] is being held this weekend in an Italian jail and is facing deportation to the United States. His mother, Pat, who is continuing on the journey to Baghdad, said: That would be the very worst outcome. It would be a disaster for him.For us too, Pat, for us too. We were all so looking forward to your son being terminated in Iraq, but we can't kill him back here in America! (Can we?) I suppose you and the others will have to do. Hurry along to you Uncle Saddam now, time is short!

This is one of the funniest things I have ever read! Oh, if only the wheels could have fallen off the buses because someone loosened the lug nuts.

...I thought the journey would be one long party...Yikes!! As we've always known, these people are hopelessly out of touch with reality.
The only person I feel sorry for is Gary's mom, who works in British Intelligence.
Blackballed because her son is stupid and way over his head involved in this charade. I bet he visualizes himself as a truly unselfish idealist rather than the spoiled child of privilege the rest of us see.
Frankly I expect all of them to end up dead in the war zone. Human shields indeed!
