" Why is that pre-emptive? "
Your right, it is not!!
The left would have you think so, and have been using that argument for months.
A loose analogy: If a criminal is given a 2yr sentence and is put on parole after serving one, what happens if he breaks the terms of his parole?

I've just saved it under my personal favorites in my computer. What a speech that was. If they ever sell it on videotape - I'm there. Thanks again.

Well, the Germans national bird is the stork, so I guess they have one leg to stand on, unlike the French, whose bird is the chicken.

Agreed. "Deer hunting without an accordion."
My compliments. That's good.

Anyone who is "over" 9/11 is a moron. Sure, life goes on - we don't think of it every second. But life is also different. I can see how the west coast people, aside from being liberal, feel so far removed from it all. Also, they didn't see the action "live" - they were sleeping - until their phones started ringing. While many on the Left Coast ARE Liberals, many are NOT... secondly, some of us were on our way into work and heard about the first hit on the radio, and tuned in at work to see the second hit... Yeah, many of us saw it "live", and wish we hadn't...

Violating UN resolutions is anything but uncommon. Saddam's a dirtball. Nobody disagrees with that. The problem is that he's not the most dangerous dirtball out there and hasn't done anything worth sending a quarter of a million GI's half way around the world to attack.

Thanks for that specific resolution info from '91. The argument has actually worked with a few libs I know and I think it's a good one. If only the UN would undestand. sigh

I'm a staunch Republican, but the right ticks me off when they don't argue effectively. Under international law, I'm sure Saddam is in violation and what we're about to do is not consider pre-emptive. I've recently written Marc Racicot they won't get more $$ from me until they start using more effective arguments. Ridiculous. We could argue more effectively, as Rush says, with one hand behind our backs.

I wasn't meaning to demean the west coast and was actually defending the position of some "over there" who don't seem as concerned as many in New York and Washington. We all wish we hadn't seen it, but having seen it live, one will never think quite the same again.

I think that may be right (Brokaw's take), I also think that after the hastily arranged press conference and the revelation that Sa-damn had authorized the use of the supposedly non-existent chemical weapons, that you're damn right there was a lot of chatter. They will hit us if they can. I predict we stay at orange till the party starts and then we go to red. Sa-damn hasn't a prayer of beating us on the battlefield, his only option is to try to kill a lot of innocent people. This is what we need to prevent though if we can't that is HIS fault, not ours. Also - I think the delay right now has been the negotiations with the Turks. I can't believe President Bush would leave us ALL in harms way all this time just to appease the Germans, French, and 5th column in this country.

A loose analogy: If a criminal is given a 2yr sentence and is put on parole after serving one, what happens if he breaks the terms of his parole?Another analogy: A man is holding a gun to a hostage's head. The cops bring in a sharpshooter to take him out when he has a clear shot. The libs would have you believe that the cops started it, whining, "the bad guy didn't actually hurt anybody."
