You keep asking why we don't use the "not a pre-emptive attack argument". The reason it isn't used is it doesn't hold water

I've asked twice and I respectfully disagree it doesn't hold water. You talk about AQ, etc. but don't address the fact that Saddam surrendered in '91 and accepted UN resolutions, etc. He's violated every one of them, repeatedly. We go back into Iraq in 2003 to finish what he started in '91. Why is that pre-emptive?

All Britain needs is one terrorist attack and they will be reminded why Clinton isn't a serious man and he won't be permitted to run a kindergarden, let alone Oxford. Agree with you 100%.

Freep regards to your sister and family for the trauma you all went through. What we saw on television was horrible enough.

I know one thing. The President will do it when the time is right - not a moment sooner and not a moment later.

Such a refreshing change from the last decade! I really am at peace with these men who are leading our country now.

Ditto everything you said. I originally, on this thread, thought we'd go with 48 hours of Monday. Now I think it's 48 hours as of the 14th, and even then I think Bush will give the UN a few days to do the right thing. Waste of time because they probably won't do it and will prove they are indeed irrelevant.

Just incase you needed it. The original resolution that told Saddam to be a good boy in 1991 is U.N. Resolution 687. You're right. It's not preemptive. It's complying to what we said would happen to Saddam if he violated 687. Now 18 Resolutions later, we're finally gonna finish this thing.

Very refreshing. Funny how the level of faith changes when you have a President with integrity and love of country.

The New Moon may or may not be a concern...but what is...the pilgrimage to Mecca. There will be a ton of international flights coming out of various cities in Saudi Arabia when the Haj ends.

That is a legitimate military concern.

I dont see us doing anything until after those flights have departed and left the TO.

I'm starting to really like this idea, too. Imagine if Saddam knew he had until..say..Feb 27th at 3 pm GMT to surender and leave. When he didn't, we follow through. Don't mess with Texas. (..as an Arizonan, I never thought I'd say 'don't mess with Texas.)

I remember 11-22-63 also. All the nuns were crying and we were sent home from school.

Can't say it affected me the same as 9-11-01 though.
