ANNAN: 'DON'T GO IT ALONE' (VOMITING TILL YOU DIE ALERT)

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan has warned the United States against launching a unilateral attack on Iraq.

He argued that action under a UN umbrella would have greater legitimacy and better odds of success.

In an address marking the 310th anniversary of William and Mary College, Annan stressed that force should be used only as a last resort.

But if the UN Security Council concludes, after a key report by UN inspectors due on Friday, that Iraq is not disarming as required by council resolutions, "the council must face up to its responsibilities," he said.

"When there is strong UN leadership, exercised through patient diplomatic persuasion and coalition-building, the United Nations is successful.

"The United Nations is most successful to all its members, including the United States, when it is united and works as a source of collective action rather than discord.

"The broader our consensus on Iraq, the better the chance that we can come together and deal effectively with other burning conflicts in the world, which cause untold suffering and which urgently need our attention - from Israel and Palestine to Congo and Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), not to mention our efforts to stabilize Afghanistan," he said.

Wonder if he's worried about his job? He should be.

Too bad we can't fire Cokie Rob...er, Kofi Annan.

Kofi is an irrevelent piece of garbage who is for thwarting the U.S. whenever possible. Can anyone name one major diplomatic problem he or the UN has solved?

My recollection is sadly only wars solve major problems.

Exactly what were the "goals" of the UN Founders? (a democratic world of peace, justice, and prosperity for all) What is more important, who the blaze where the UN Founders? What was there political leanings in "heading" the world toward their goal? The UN's founders chose to open the UN charter with the prophetic words, "We the peoples of the United Nations...." when hell freezes over will I recite, or be part of, that crap.

Well then, the UN had better hurry the hell up and get on board, shouldn't it?

You are right -- CIA should be tracking this ex-President as he goes around the world IMO attempting to undermine this President and, in turn, this Country and its security!

No doubt the CIA tracks one of "its own".

If I had a survey map of NYC I'd whip up a quick ACAD model of the proposal and send it to Dubya...
