With his appearance on Larry King-Partially alive on Thursday night, you could tell Clinton is back in the "Campaign Mode". He was dispensing advise and spewing his future visions of what needs to be done to make the World a better place...if we can...only with MY help and what I have done....
He managed to intersperse his monologue with references to how proud he is of Hilliary!! and what SHE is doing for (to) "we New Yorkers" he claimed.
Clinton wants to be the Secretary General of the UN. He could become nominated by the Security Council quite easily and then approved by the General Assembly. A look at the prior office holders shows them all to be left wing extremists and "future visionaries"...(snip)
Under the Charter, the Secretary-General is appointed by the General Assembly upon the recommendation of the Security Council. Mr. Annan's predecessors as Secretary-General were: Boutros Boutros-Ghali (Egypt), who held office from January 1992 to December 1996; Javier PÈrez de CuÈllar (Peru), who served from January 1982 to December 1991; Kurt Waldheim (Austria), who held office from January 1972 to December 1981; U Thant (Burma, now Myanmar), who served from November 1961, when he was appointed acting Secretary-General (he was formally appointed Secretary-General in November 1962) to December 1971; Dag Hammarskjld (Sweden), who served from April 1953 until his death in a plane crash in Africa in September 1961; and Trygve Lie (Norway), who held office from February 1946 to his resignation in November 1952. (From UN.org)
And now back to your regularly scheduled Rant... What is clear to me is that becoming UN Secy General is his aim. This is why he travels around (aside from the $$$$moola) he is trying to lobby as many third worlders as he can to get his name on the short list. In a few years, Koffi Annan will be even more a tired hack and, perhaps, his awe-full wife (PIAPS) will be running for President. They will try to sell us the "two for one" deal again, except this time he'll be at the UN and She'll be in the WH.
Remember, we ALL said--"Oh he won't be re-elected"...and he was. We said "SHE can't be elected in NY..." and she was...NOTHING is beyond the reach of these two evil people. They yearn for more power. He is running again for the UN job...SHE is running for the WH job....and I don't mean any other "job"...
So, be on the look out for more tell tail signs--more TV appearances for the two of them, telling how THEY will handle this or that situation, how We are the globe and the "it takes a village" spiel...mark my words, they ARE working to be in charge once again...
Another Saturday in America, Orangeade Alert--GRRRRRR!

Trent Lott deserves far more disgrace for his obnoxious sabotauge and cover up of all evidence in absolutely refusing to support the Senate's removal of the smiling sociopath from Hope.
The Clintons are like herpes: they're no fun, they're embarrassing, and they never go away!

As an US citizen, he can never be Secretary General. Citizens of the five permanent members of the Security Council are ineligible for that office. Part of the UN Charter.
Of course WE all know the man is no American, but for their purposes, he is.

This was predicted on this forum many years ago. I missed Larry King w/ Clintoon. From what you said it sure sounds like he is leaning for a world leader position to suit his narcisscisim.
Imagine...a republican President having to grovel to Clinton.

UN rules prohibit the Secretary General being from a nation that is a member of the Security Council.

Depends on your definition of ineligible. And of your definition of American.
Can you imagine Bush going to the UN with Clinton as SG? And telling them they're irrelevent?
And then Clinton claiming the only reason Bush doesn't like the UN is because the Secretary General is black!

I think it would be appropriate -- given the circumstances -- for, say, Saddam Hussein, Yassir arafart or Momar Khaddafy to be the next Secretary General of the UN. Might was well show that empty institution for what it really is.

Clinton will have that part of the charter rewritten (as he wanted our constitution changed so he could be President again) he will grovel to Coffee A-hole.
To: MadIvan
Do you think the Clinton machine is capable of getting the UN Charter amended?

Does this mean Clinton will buy a vacation home in St. Barts as a tax dodge and say he is from there?

If that wasn't enough to gag a maggot, I don't know what is.

Does this mean Clinton will buy a vacation home in St. Barts as a tax dodge and say he is from there? If he has $50,000, he can purchase Peruvian citizenship if he wants.

I am glad I missed this... I would be sick!

I'm not sure where it is, but I read that too. It was to keep the large and powerful countries from controling everything.
I wish Clinton could take it. It would put him in charge of something as useless as he is.

Do you think the Clinton machine is capable of getting the UN Charter amended? Not at present. Even some third world countries hate him, Musaveni, the President of Uganda, for example, thinks he's a creep.
