Bring her on. We're going to have to beat her in '04 or '08. The more you see her the less you like her.

Maybe with Sharpton as VP.
Hilary or Al, Hilary or Al, how can the democrats possibly choose between these paragons?

I work for Rush Limbaugh. While certainly a wonderful job to have, that's not as good as working in a ::cough:: "mainstream" network newsroom for the purposes of an argument as to what they will do in the event Hillary runs.
Does Rush sit in a dark office all day long secretly believing that it's all hopeless and "President Hillary" is a God-given metaphsyical inevitabiliy?
To: Timesink
No. There is one thing, and one thing only, that will make "mainstream" journalists override their natural allegiance to the DNC, and that one thing is the chance to Make History (and thus Become Famous and Win a Pulitzer in the process). And what better way to do that than to change the course of history itself and take down a presidential candidate? I sure hope you're right, and I wish I could share your optimism.
My fear is that you are partially right. The media does love to take down a presidential candidate, but better still is to take down a sitting president. Especially if said president is a Republican, won his office by the thinnest of margins, and has been confounding their utopian socialist desires at every turn for the past four years.
I expect Gulf War II to be short, triumphant, and to bring the kind of accolades to George W. that his father enjoyed in Gulf War I. I also expect the leftist shills in the media to labor tirelessly to erode his favorable numbers just as they did to George H.W. Bush. If the economy is sputtering along their work will be easier, but expect them to "work harder than they have ever worked in their lives" to destroy W, to paraphrase William Jefferson Airplane Clinton, regardless of how happy and prosperous the nation may be next year.
Given a choice between gunning for Hillary! and venting their seething, corrosive hatred for President Bush, what do you think they will do?

An enjoyable thread to the extent that the mention of Hillary Regina does not trigger a VEA (Volcanic Emesis Alert) as it does in me.
Denver D. is largely correct. The amoral fifth column in this fair republic (the fourth estate) is both megalomanic and anti-constitutional. They would prefer to take down Bush. They will insulate HR WHEN she runs.
Many comments on this thread are both apropos and accurate.
1. HR will not run directly at POTUS.
2. She will bide her time, taking potshots at both emerging Dims and Bush - preying (sic) that Bush fails.
3. She will 'accept a draft' for VPOTUS if there is a hint of a stumble in Bush's march forward and be content with the heartbeat separation from the prize (after all, what's the Arky Mafia for...?)
I obviously do not share the anti-HR optimism of some Freepers or the faith in the propaganda-vulnerable and malleable middle of the electorate.

Yes, were Hitlery to run, GOP voters would be crawling over broken glass and rusty razor blades to vote against her.

"And I suppose she will get caught French kissing Mrs Arafat in the oval office. President Hillary, my God the nightmare that would be. The homicide rate would go up too. Clinton body count II."
As would the suicide rate. Imagine Bubba as the FLOTUS. Maybe he'd wear a tacky blue dress?

The best example is the fund raising story. The Riady family, John Huang, coffees, the attendees at the coffees, Buddhist temples, "returned" contributions, no controlling legal authority, naval bases in Long Beach, the taking of the fifth, fleeing witnesses back to China, and on and on. All reported reluctantly, perfunctorily, minimally, and minimized, "explained", and excused.
That's just one story they could have topped Watergate with, but they looked the other way.
You are as wrong as can be in your prognostication.

I really cannot imagine the powers-that-be in the Democrat Party ever allowing Hillary Clinton to be their presidential -- or even their vice-presidential -- candidate in either '04 or '08.
Democrat Party leaders simply must know that she would so energize the Right (and many moderates) that not only would Democrats lose the White House but both houses of Congress (again) as well because most of these highly-charged voters who will come out to vote against Hillary won't be voting for other Democrats in other races either!

Hillary would lie to NY? She promised them she'd finish her term.
PS...A vote for Hillary is a vote to put the discraced, impeached rapist back in the Whitehouse. Pass it around!

"WASHINGTON - A new poll says Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton could sweep the entire field of Democratic presidential candidates if she wanted to challenge President Bush in 2004 - fueling talk she's leaving the door open to doing just that. "
Which would mean possible victories in Washington, New Jersey and New York (city).
I hope she does run. Most of America hates her slimey marxist guts.
