I was in 20 years ago- I remember that the Corps was trying out all kinds of new things then. The Harrier had been recently adopted, the SAW, the M-300 and SMAW, the LCAC, the LAV, and I remember an experimental unit called "Reconaissance Engineers" being played with.
I feel as if the Corps is still in good hands these days. They still have the old traditions, and they're still constantly looking out for good ideas.
I have twice recently met members of the current crop. They're alert, competent and respectful. And they treat old-timers like older siblings.
